Accepting the award for Most Popular Drama on behalf of the Doctor Who cast and crew, Bernard Cribbins said:

"This is absolutely wonderful and I know how pleased [David Tennant] must be because he's been at it for four years, and I think everybody involved with Doctor Who will be just as pleased. The whole team down there are certainly the best I've ever worked with. Thank you, BBC. Cymru am byth!"

The ceremony took place last night at the O2 arena in London. Gavin & Stacey was also named Best Comedy Programme, although Ruth Jones was absent. The award was picked up by her co-writer James Corden, who was accompanied by fellow cast members Larry Lamb, Alison Steadman and Melanie Walters.
