Writer Dafydd James commented: "This being my first Welsh language play, my experience and notion of being Welsh and part of a Welsh-speaking culture has played a critical role in the work's development.
"The old Welsh heroic poetry of Y Gododdin was a key inspiration as were nights out in Cardiff as a gay man. I wanted to explore what it means to belong to a 'tribe' in modern day Wales."
Llwyth runs at Chapter Arts Centre between 15 and 24 April, with surtitled performances on 20 and 23 April. The production then tours various locations across Wales before moving on to the Oval House Theatre in London. Visit the Sherman Cymru website for more information.
