A Child's Christmas In Wales was published in 1955, and is an anecdotal sketch of the festive season that emerged from a piece originally written for radio.

It is an affectionate, nostalgic look back on Christmases past and an exercise in storytelling in which Thomas recreates the experience of Christmas as though it were a fairy tale.

Listen to an excerpt from A Child's Christmas on the BBC Wales Christmas website.

The production at Clwyd Theatr Cymru is a new adaptation by the theatre's Associate Director Tim Baker, and the cast features Michael Geary, Charlotte Gray, Iola Hughes, Owen Morse and Simon Nehan.

A Child's Christmas in Wales runs at the theatre from Thursday 9 December until Saturday 8 January 2011, before touring at Taliesin Arts Centre in Swansea, Torch Theatre in Milford Haven, Theatr Hafren in Newton and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

Visit the Clwyd Theatr Cymru website for further information on the production and to see what else is going on at the Mold theatre during the winter season.
