Welsh literature promotion agency Academi has launched a great new website that celebrates the literary talents of the nation.
The Writers' Plaques website details the memorials dedicated to Welsh writers throughout the country on a map of Wales. So far Academi has profiled 58 plaques, commemorating both Welsh and English language writers. It hopes that in mapping these plaques, communities and residents will be reminded, or made aware, of the literary heritage in their local area.

Each plaque has been individually profiled and the website offers users detailed information on each writer's life, plus extracts from The New Companion to the Literature of Wales, photographs, area maps and p links to obituaries, articles, YouTube videos and further websites of interest.
Academi is looking for the public to get involved with the project too. They are encouraging people to visit and review plaques, to contribute photos and videos they may have taken while visiting a plaque, and they also want people to let them know if they've missed a plaque from the map.
