This week's show is now available via the BBC iPlayer. Please listen again any time between now and the start of the next programme.

WARNING: This radio show contains scenes of gratuitous overexcitement.

There's so much good 'stuff' around this week, I confess I get a little undignified in the fulsomeness of my praise. In the first instance, consider Sparrow and the Workshop's brilliant new single Shock Shock. MAN ALIVE it's stunning. A river of drool could leak out of your speakers at that point...

Hopefully that unbecoming image won't drive you away. Because if it did, you'd miss debut plays for The History of Apple Pie, Jimmy Binks and the Shakehorns, Elkka, Wrongs, Zombie Dub, Howl, Catrin Siriol and Pipedream.

Move music towards me using digital telekinesis via the BBC Introducing Uploader, please.

Elsewhere on the show, the luminously brilliant Huw Williams - Pooh Stick and good egg - eulogises something great from the Spencer Davis Group.

Lara Catrin translates something bewitching from Catrin Siriol. And Ben Hayes treats us to something modal and excellent from Fairport Convention's early catalogue.
