Plenty of rain over the next 36 hours

December is the second wettest month of the year on average in Wales and there's plenty more rain to comeĀ over the next 36 hours.

There are Met Office warnings in force, including an amber warning for southern and south-eastern counties.

20 to 40mm of rain is expected fairly widely, but 70mm (3 inches) is possible on the highest ground e.g. Blaenau Gwent by the end of tomorrow. This means an increasing risk of some flooding and travel disruption.

Tomorrow evening the rain will ease and move away so drying-up overnight.

Friday will be much drier and brighter with some sunshine but more wet and windy weather is expected over the weekend.

The Floodline number is 0845 988 1188 or take a look at the Environment Agency's website for any flood alerts and warnings that maybe issued.

If you are travelling, tune into Radio Wales, Radio Cymru or online for the latest traffic and travel news at www.bbc.co.uk/wales.
