National poet of Wales Gillian Clarke has written a sonnet entitled Blue Sky Thinking, inspired by the recent ban on air travel in the UK due to the volcanic ash cloud emitted by Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull volcano.

Listen to a clip on the BBC Wales News website in which she recites the sonnet and tells BBC Radio Wales presenter Rhun ap Iorwerth that at no time since she was born has she seen the skies over Wales so untouched by the sight and sound of planes.
