Côr Meibion Y Penrhyn, formed by slate workers at the Penrhyn Quarry in the 19th century, will be joining whimsical chart-bothering indie types Bombay Bicycle Club on their song Always Like This.

Speaking to the North Wales Daily Post, veteran chorister and tenor Tom Owen Williams said: "This is completely new and we will be singing in front of a very different crowd but we are honoured to have been asked.

"We only found out last Saturday and it will be a very busy week of rehearsing to be ready. We will only have our first full rehearsal with the band on the day, a few hours before the performance.

"We will be out to get noticed on the day as Côr y Fron have done, I also hope Cheryl Cole notices us as she is single now."
