If you listen to 'new' music, there are odd, discombobulating moments when it sounds exactly like you’ve tumbled through a wormhole back to 1968. Psychedelia is everywhere, so perhaps that should have been 'wyrmhole'.

In past decades, Chloe Leavers’ music wouldn’t have struggled to make itself heard.

If the producers of Through the Keyhole were really scraping the barrel, and decided to send whoever it is that has taken over from Lloyd Grossman through the unpaid bills and discarded record mailers blocking my front-door, it’d be all too obvious who I am.

This week’s show is very, very spiky with brilliant new music of Welsh origin.
So many thrilling new artists who hadn’t been baptised on my radio show before: The Featherz, Sea Lion, Luvv, Mandy, Past Grievances, Bur Hoff Bau, Saron, Pine Canopies, The Caspiens, Ruby Parfitt, Sam, Not My Finest Hour...

A fair proportion of the country bled copiously from sports-related wounds on Saturday.
I'm not unsympathetic. In fact, I'd like to think that this week's show could offer succour and comfort to the injured and downcast. Music, you see, won't bash you about. It doesn't raise your expectations and...

On this week’s programme I will feature a half-hour set of my favourite northern soul records. This is my love letter to the genre-that-isn’t-really-a-genre, a better-late-than-never foot on the bandwagon before Elaine Constantine’s anticipated film ‘Northern Soul’ reaches cinemas.

It struck me recently that I’ve been keeping statistical data about the music I play on my show for three years now. It is as geeky as it sounds, the product of a misspent youth and a BBC Micro but it also provides an interesting overview of what I have played on the show in that period.

What am I for?
I’m good at feeding my daughter, hoovering the stairs, walking long distances in drizzle without complaining, playing one record after another after 4 Guinnesses (but no more) and, erm, well that’s it, really.

This week's show is brought to you by the number 4, the words 'rammed', 'full', 'of', 'sonic' and 'treats', and the letter 'Ff' (I love that Y Ffug song).

I always find it odd when radio people claim that they've 'discovered' an artist. Artists are rarely found in a basket under the chimney.

Admittedly it's not the pithiest handle in the world ever — but it does do what it says on the tin.

So that's it. My 10 Favourite Welsh albums of 2013. Buy them for someone using the entirely spurious suitable for/unsuitable for advice detailed here in. Happy Christmas/Nadolig Llawen to you all!

This is the fourth part of the rundown of my Top 10 favourite Welsh albums of 2013. It's a messily subjective and undignified love letter to Welsh music.

Music is the nerve endings of the world outside. I can't write about a song that affects me in isolation to that. It'd be like trying to write about the latest exhibition in the Tate Modern with a welder's mask on.

This is the second part of the rundown of my Top 10 Favourite Welsh Albums of 2013. It's very much a personal list. Music isn't supposed to be objective, democratic or fair.

This year marked my 20th as a new music broadcaster. Thinking back to 1993, it's remarkable how much Welsh music has evolved since then.
