We are witnessing the fall of 'Blog' and the rise of 'Facebook'.

It now appears that the BBC Blog is of secondary importance as the BBC seem to take more time conducting affairs and keeping discussion topics up to date on facebook than on their own website.

Why is a public corporation actively encouraging the use of a private social network site?

Now that would make a decent discussion point...

Re the ACPO idea. Are men who take up relationships with violent women going to be advised of their 'previous'?

There is a difference between being assertive and being agressive; the interview wasn't impartial it was an attack.

I've given up asking, via commenting on here, for the blog to be updated.

It really isn't too onerous a task to type a few lines every day; after all the Facebook part is continually updated (unfortunately the majority of contributions on there are not worth reading - I think that's where Private Eye go to to get ideas from for their "From The Message Boards - Members of the online community respond to the major issues of the day..." spoof).

I think the 'problem' is that comments on the blog have to be checked by a moderator/member of the production team before being allowed to stand whereas Facebook is not a Beeb tool and any comments can be made without moderation (although there is a 'complain' button but I suspect that's hardly ever used).

It's a shame because the Facebook part of it is hardly worth reading (for those reasons) and this site generally is.

Carrie - Victoria is carrying on with her 'spokeswoman for New Labour' role again this morning - evidenced by the voice going up a few octaves and getting shriller whenever anyone 'Tory' dares to pop his/her head above the parapet.

    Very boring.

I heard her too, Zelda. Why does VD indulge ignoramuses like her? She clearly didn't understand the concept of Constitutional Monarchy at all. I thought the man (wasn't listening from beginning so don't know who he is - but called Alan) was extremely patient with her.

They must despair at the general depth of ignorance displayed.

I can't be bothered with all this palaver and pantomime.I do feel sorry for the Queen on occasions like this. She must be bored rigid along with the rest of us.Perhaps they should get a guest presenter like on HIGNFY to read this rubbish out.Someone like Michael Mcintyre to jolly it all up a bit.

I did catch some New Labour bod lecturing us all yet again about the virtues of this ceremony. If it's something I can't stand, that is politicians in lecturing mode.

Is it me or is Victoria's voice sounding more smug than ever ?

Is anyone at the BBC interested in updating this blog since monday ?

I only ask because reverting to blogs ( not Facebook ) was the excuse we were given by a certain individual at Future Media for running down and closing the old and very popular Radio message board, where some of us had the opportunity to pass comment.
