Should Gary McKinnon be tried in Britain?
Today we'll discuss compensation for British servicemen and women who are injured and maimed. There seems to be general agreement that there's something wrong with the system, and that the levels of compensatio aren't high enough - so what would be a better system?
Plus we'll talk to the British computer hacker with asperger's syndrome who will find out on Friday whether he will be extradited to the United States for hacking into Pentagon and NASA computers. Should he be tried in Britain instead?

So the girl jailed for life is to serve her sentence here in the UK. Why bother? She'll be out in a couple of weeks.

Don't know who the guy was speaking on behalf of the woman locked up in Laos but he was a total joke. He hopes that this will show people how serious it is smuggling drugs in countries like Laos??? No, it will just show people that if you get caught, the government will bail you out!

How Asperger's works.
My son has it. One day at end of school he pulled out a fence post and ran across the field. The head saw this and called it vandalism.
I asked him what he thought he was doing. He said he had spotted some dog poo and wanted to move it so younger children would not fall into it.
The head's heart melted. Welcome to Asperger's: Right motive, wrong action.
Gary was looking for UFOs, not hacking into military secrets. My son's behaviour was impulsive but that impulsive behavior can become obbsessive, as in Gary's case. What do I know? I was diagnosed with AS at the age of 50.
As for Gary coming across as arrogant, that is often a sign of AS. Poor insight into own behaviour.

Asperger's Syndrome shouldn't be an excuse. I don't want people on the autistic spectrum breaking into my house (or computer) and getting away with it just because they leave a message on my fridge door saying they were only looking for a cup of sugar and that my home security is poor.

So today we are supposed to feel sorry for a convicted heroin smuggler who impregnated herself to avoid the death sentence and a Computer Hacker who thinks hes above the law.
Not too certain i understand why the heroin smuggler should have a Minister of the crown sorting out her case leave her in Laos to do her sentence.
as for the hacker tough mate dont break the law.

NO...Mr. McKinnon should not be tried in the United Kingdom for his ALLEGED crimes...
If he is convicted, then the U.S. Courts should transferred Custody of him, back to the United Kingdom...

This poor young man is intellectually disabled. He should not be punished for this crime. Mitagating Circumstances, Low levels of cognitive realisation of the serious nature of his imagined games.
Cognitive Age Autism like a child, playing can do games, not wishing to hurt anyone.
