Can Manchester City break into the Big 4?

Victoria Derbyshire | 09:08 UK time, Wednesday, 15 July 2009

According to our own Taking the Pulse survey, many of you are worried about job security. So let's hear from you this morning about what you're doing to keep the job you've got, or how you're going about trying to find another one. Plus is it a good thing that Manchester City have bought Tevez, Barry, Roque Santa Cruz - and want Adebayor and Terry? Will it really shake up the so-called big 4? (one of our sports producers says he can feel it in his waters that Terry is going to sign for City today....or at least put in a formal transfer request).

And we are crossing our fingers about talking to the dad of 19 yr old Jamie Neale from London, the backpacker who has been found after being missing for 12 days - - it's the best story of the day....

PS Tomorrow and Friday it's coverage of the Open from Turnberry from 9.

"The big four". Up until recently it was only ever "the big two" (Man Yoo and Arsenal) so Man City might make it "the big five" although it is more likely that it will stay "the big four" and that Citteh will replace Arsenal in that group.

I don't think Terry will sign for them (whatever your producer says). I think he's using the threat of it as a tactic to get RA to open his pursestrings; Chelsea haven't spent much at all (in comparison to Man Yoo for example) in the last two years.

Who would want to play for Citteh this season? No European football and Terry craves the CL.

Citteh will become the Real Madrid of the North East eventually; still can't get my head around it although anything that puts SAF's nose out of joint is worth a snigger.

manchester city will break in the top four the teams most likely to give way will be chelsea or manchester united as they have ageing teams and no knew signings man utd have lost there 2 best players in tevez and ronaldo and chelsea look like loseing terry and they have a new manager with no premier league experiance the only teams that look like they have been rebuilding in the last few years have been liverpool and arsenal they have young squads with magnificent players

by the way man city and its arab muslim owners will dominate world football no club on the planet can compete with them not even real madrid thw city owners have no debt on the club and they are not intrested in makeing money they just want to be the best and win silverware now that is a very scary thing as they have money to burn how does any football club compete with that well they cant unless somebody has the same wealth to match them and that is not gonna happen is it

Jimmy "hun" Arsenal are in massive debt - owing to the building of their new stadium. Yes Man U are in debt (and so are Chelsea) but both are owned by rich owners who aren't going to pull the plug in the forseeable.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see Man Yoo tumble out of the top four but I don't see that happening this season. If one of the top four tumbled out in the coming season I would put money on the team being Arsenal.

lol sarnia hun leave football matters to me what i dont know about the beautifull game is not worth knowing now im prepared to stick my kneck on the line and gurantee you that arsenal will not break out of the top 4 if they do im more than happy to take you out and wine and dine you and take you on a shopping spree thats how confident i am the debt at arsenal is managed its pocket change compared to man utd we are a very stable club with all the foundations in place and thanks tothe genius of wenger i am happy to give 5 years to you that arsenal will not be out of the top 4 in that time or ever fr that matter as long as wenger is in charge the team with the biggest problems apart from man utd is chelsea terry looks like he wants out and the new manager knows nothing about the premer league

LOL! Count yourself lucky that I am not a hissy fitty female who would take umbrage at your quite ridiculous comments but am content merely to snigger (and I am speaking as CFC ST holder and LONG TIME supporter).

Although Arsenal is not my favourite team (they're just a small town in Tottenham) it would be a shame to see them drop out of the top four instead of Man Yoo, but I suspect that that will happen. Mark my words, you read it here first.

Well, nobody is talking about Liverpool. For me, Liverpool may win the title or else will take 5th place. In case of Liverpool not winning, it will be City vs Arsenal and United at 3rd and Chelsea 4th!! For United Michael is a big minus. Look at Liverpool and how it was doing after Owen left! Now i am ready to get hit by fans of every club including city and pool!
