Dramatic weight loss
Before and after
We'll talk to the young woman who was once described as Britain's fattest teenager. 16 year old Georgia Davies from South Wales has just got back from a US weight-loss camp - having shed 15 stone, almost half her bodyweight. She'll be with us at 11.

Plus schooldays - are they really the best days of your life? New research says actually, they're not.
And the mother of Hester Stewart, the 21 year old who died after taking the legal high GBL. Last summer drugs experts recommended it should be banned. It's still legal. We'll talk to Maryon Stewart, ahead of her meeting with the Home Secretary tomorrow.

Well done Georgia - I hope you find the courage to stick to the new diet, God knows it's hard enough to keep the weight off but I hope you do. Try not to slip back to the old ways again.
The drug debate is a difficult one. Ban it and it will still be available somewhere. It's very sad but deaths from drugs will never be fully eradicated.

This is a very sad case but why do people use peer pressure as an excuse ?
Will people use their intelligence and just not use drugs that could harm them.It is surely not worth the risk.

I can only say how truly sorry I am that you are even having this debate. If only you could see yourselves from the outside.
Economically and financially speaking the UK is now one of the worst placed countries in the world and yet there remains a complete denial over the need to extricate youth from the issue of drugs.
The pitiful insularity of the once globally dominant British has blinded you to the breathtaking progress made in Asia and the extraordinary standards of living enjoyed in places like Japan, South Korea and Singapore where I live.
If the British want a future worth aspiring to, the media should cease trotting out these soul-destroying debates on the nation's nastiest habits and instead show the country what its missing out on and provide a vision of where the country could be going.
Anyone bringing narcotics into Singapore faces very stiff sentences including the possibly of death. The result is a youth enjoying clean living, wealth and bright prospects.

Whilst Georgia has done well in reducing her weight, this is just another example of lack of self-discipline and willpower. I do not agree that our taxes should be wasted in supporting someone who basically lacks focus in life.
On the subject of Prince Charles' latest accounts, it should be mentioned that, as a landowner, he receives hundreds of thousands of pounds every year in payments from the European Common Agricultural Policy. This is paid for by European taxpayers, and is lumped in as income from the Duchy of Cornwall (so is disguised as being from his landholdings, and not from the taxpayer). Sneaky really!

Great job there Georgia! I hope that you will find a way to continue disciplining yourself to loose more and get the weight desired for a 16 year old. Just think of the reason why you are doing that.
You are still young and a big future awaits you, so you should care for your health.
A big congratulations to wedding planners of GA.

Well done Georgia.
But what was her mother doing during this time?
How can you consume food totalling 13,000 calories? Even ten packets of crisps is only 1800 calories. Bottle of coke can be what? 250 calories? How many crisp packets and how many bottles of coke was she drinking every day? More importanly how could she and her mother afford to buy all this junk food?
The mother should be arrested for child abuse.

Ok lets put all this in perspective. In a country where if you save all your life ,work hard, never have any debt and pay all your taxes and NI you get nothing from the NHS when, due to old age and illness, you have to go into a care home and have more than £22,000 in savings or a house. You then have to pay something between £25-50,000 pa ,or more, for care (not nursing) and probably sell your house to do it.If you manage to live several years in the home your savings may run out and you will then have to move to a home nomintaed by the local council .
Why do these careful ,often frugal ,hard working people get nothing, yet wasters who cannot control their eating habits and have never paid any Tax (and possibly never will if they live on benefits because they are too fat to work or get to work) get funded by the rest of us?In other words if you are old and ill no NHS help, but if you are young and can't be bothered to stop eating, you get handouts for self induced obesity! No wonder the NHS is likely to run out of money. No doubt this girl will need cosmetic surgery next ,on the state, because of the excess skin left by the loss of weight.Pathetic not worthy of any sympathy.

Mrpaulbh, i couldn't agree with you more!
Whilst I commend Georgia for losing the weight, I don't believe the NHS should be footing the bill for continued treatment.
The NHS is at overstretched (no pun intended) as it is, and paying over £20,000 to help this girl lose more weight would be ludicrous!
It is self inflicted. Her mother was more than happy to spend thousands of pounds on feeding her daughter crisps, chocolate cake and coke, and yet now has the audacity to demand the NHS pay thousands of pounds to help her lose the weight.
There are lots of people out there who watch their diet and eat healthly, go for walks or work hard in the gym, will they also be able to demand that the NHS pay for their vegetables or gym membership?I think not!
I'm afraid this country is being brought to its knees but girls like Georgia and others, who are more than happy to sit in front of a t.v, gorge on fast foods and snacks, and then when the going gets tough, demand that the Tax payer foots the bill!
Its going to be sunny for the next few weeks apparently, so how about going for a walk? It's free and you'll shed some pounds in the process!
