Bonkers - it's Dizzee and Eminem

Post categories:

music_150509_466x200.jpgEminem announced he was retiring in 2005. But now he's back and on Monday we'll be reviewing his sixth album Relapse. Also up for review - the latest album from American punk rockers Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown; Bonkers - the latest single from Mercury Prize winner Dizzee Rascal (it's getting played everywhere at the moment) and Candy - the new song by Paulo Nutini who's been hailed as one of the nation's bright young stars - but so far his biggest hit is Last Request which reached number 5 in 2006. And last, but by no means least, Suggs from Madness will join Victoria to talk about The Liberty of Norton Folgate - their first album in ten years.

Persisting in this nonsense to try and grab a few 20 year old new listeners. Thank goodness I have the cricket to enjoy today, even if it is the chat during showers it is more entertaining.

I must admit I can barely pluck up my indifference. Dizzee Rascal? Eminem? Please!

Do we really have to suffer this pop music rubbish. If I wish to listen to pop music, I will turn to Radio 1, or 2 or any of the other miriad stations that broadcast this drivel.
People listen to Five Live NOT to listen to music.
Please consign this rubbish to where it belongs.

Agree with the majority of comments here. Switch off/re-tune when the BORING music thing comes on.

It's sooo sad; sooo aching to be cool; sooo pathetic.

Radio 1 (and countless other stations) deal with that stuff and deal with it better.

Are you trying to ape Mayo? He has his weekly film and book reviews - BUT - it's speech radio and it's good!

Seriously, I wonder if you realise how ridiculous this weekly segment is and how sad it makes you appear.

    Its just so very predictable.

I agree with the rest of the comments, i listen to 5Live because its speech based but if you must have music at least try be original.
Why not review something that we wont get a review of on all the other BBC music stations, instead of doing the 857th review of "Bonkers" because Victorias toddlers love it ( great criteria on which to pick the tunes by the way ) do the 1st review on something vaguely interesting.....................or alternatively do what you're supposed to do, news and sport, and leave the Music where it belongs.

I actually phoned yesterday as Vic is always asking us to and made this point only to be told by the girl that answered the phone that she couldn't take complaints and couldn't seem to comprehend that i wasn't complaining merely commenting on the show as we were asked to.
