"It's all in the game"
Some of you have been emailing in asking to listen again to Victoria's interview with Dominic West who plays Detective Jimmy McNulty in The Wire.

So for fans of the programme, which gets its terrestrial debut on BBC Two tonight, here it is:
And if that's not enough, you can hear more with Dominic on Richard Bacon's programme on Thursday night from 22:00.

Hah, I thought he was American all the time!
Perhaps the wire is good for people who like books. You have to be prepared to:
Pay attention. Don't eat at the same time, don't surf the computer, don't play with the kids or talk on the phone.
Don't expect cliches, don't expect strong heroes without flaws who clean everything up in 42 minutes.
The "good guys" have faults, and even break the law on occasion, the "bad guys" can show emotion and care.
And if someone is killed, it is *bang* not 20 minuttes of slowmo and jarring music.
99% of the audience will probably prefer big brother and french fries.

The first series is probably the poorest but is still excellent. The Sopranos set the standard and The Wire has raised the bar yet further.... these shows really put feeble British offerings like Waking the Dead, Spooks, Murphy's law and likes to shame, showing them up to be the unoriginal, ameturish shows they are.
Strange all the sub-standard British shows get the good time slots, for the BBC to be showing The Wire at 11.20pm when its shows mostly dumbed-down dross from 9pm-11pm is an absolute disgrace.
How the hell does Damages get a 10pm slot, Waking the Dead and Spooks 9pm slots and The Wire 11.20pm??
