How are job losses affecting you?

_45287257_woolworths226.jpgWith the news about a possible 30,000 jobs going at Woolworths before Christmas, listeners wanted to talk about redundancy and how they cope with it. We've heard from people who've already lost their jobs at Woolworths and from people prepared to take a pay cut just to stay in work - something staff at Corus are considering.

'David' in Hertfordshire was made redundant by Woolworths last week.






John is a chef from Berkshire who took a pay cut to try and keep his restaurant business running and himself in work.

    Wouldn't it be far more appropriate to discuss the economic circumstances of why job losses occur in the first place rather than reducing things to a micro personal issue where whingeing callers use the BBC as some financial advisory outfit to enforce their own financial wellbeing rather than the country as a whole?
