How would you change English football?
It pays a six figure salary and is one of the most influential jobs in football. The job of new Chief Executive of the FA is advertised today.
If you think you've got what it takes, feel free to apply here.
To get it, you don't necessarily have to come from a football or sport background but you need to be able to manage the annual turnover of £240 million and have a proven track record in "delivering organisational change." So how would YOU change English football?

First thing a new chief exec should do is to negotiate a deal where all English International games should be on terrestrial television. It is a scandal that older people who cannot afford subscription TV, cannot watch their national team play live, who they may have supported all their working lives,

I would
a) give the referees more power from the grass-roots up so that abuse, dissent, foul language etc were clamped down on. I think that referees at junior games need to have some sanction against abusive parents, too - perhaps by banning the children for future matches.
b) I would clarify and enforce the rules about player-agents; and make sure that owners of football clubs met certain minimum standards.
c) I would reduce the differential in income between top players and those in lower divisions - possibly through some form of 'tax' which clubs would pay to the FA on player's wages. This would need to be done in a way that didn't damage small clubs... e.g. by saying that there was no tax on players who earned less than £50,000 per year.
d) I would de-clutter the fixture list so that there was only one domestic cup competition (the FA Cup) - and I would also try and get Uefa to reduce the no. of clubs involved in their club competitions.
e) Sport is about entertainment so I would resist efforts to stop foreign players playing in the domestic leagues.
f) I would experiment with new technology for off-side, penalty and goal decisions... perhaps along the lines of rugby union's 'try' replays (i.e. at the referee's discretion).
g) I would publish the match referees' reports and allow feedback on a special website.
h) I would limit clubs to two managers per calendar year.
i) I would do away with the January transfer window to avoid clubs buying safety half-way through the season
j) I would charge Harry Rednapp with practising magic... only joking!
k) I would live in New Zealand to avoid all the personal abuse that would follow if I tried to reform the game.
