Getting the giggles...

Lou Birt - Programme Editor | 12:30 PM, Monday, 6 October 2008

Vic lost it today when we talked about Peter Mandelson's kidney stone.

I gave her something to read about it and she got the giggles. Before you all leap on her and say kidney stones are very painful - I know, I've had one. She wasn't taking the mick out of people who've had one... it's just that the piece I wrote for her sounded funny when she read it out.

We had some funny text messages afterwards including this one: "Is the stone having Peter Mandelson removed in hospital?"

Have a listen below to hear Vic getting the giggles really badly.

little publicised fact, NHS spending on non-smoker in their life time = £156,000.

NHS spending on a smoker over their much shorter life span = £143,000.

bearing in mind the smoker contributes more in tax, cost less to the tax payer due to shorter life...maybe we should encourage smoking and save the NHS?
