Covering the Olympic Parade
Thursday's show comes live from Trafalgar Square for the Olympic parade.
From 9, Victoria will be in the café looking onto the square, but we'll also have reporters and producers along the route and on the open-top bus itself. The parade itself starts at 11, and we'll stay on air for an extra hour to give Victoria a chance to interview the athletes as they get off the special buses.
Isn't it hard to believe the Olympics ended almost 8 weeks ago? It feels like a lifetime with everything that's happened since. London 2012 might seem a long way away - but, let's face it, we all need something to look forward to, don't we?
UPDATE - see pictures from the programme in the slideshow below
Cherry has sent us the picture below and says:
"I'm very happy to support Team GB - their performance was a rare opportunity for us to be proud and share something positive, surely this is to be treasured in these trying financial times.
I recently went to a 'Heroes & Heroines' fancy dress party as Rebecca Adlington. The party was hosted by an Aussie so my GB flag with "better than Australia" stuck on it went down very well.
Looking forward to 2012."

You can see where we are broadcasting from by watching this video we shot at the start of the programme.

Hi Victoria, We are Steve Williams (Double Olympic Rowing Gold Medalist) parents, listening live on line from our current home in Perth, Western Australia.
Your programme this afternoon from the London Parade of Heros will make us feel as if we were there, which of course, we wish we were. Have a fantastic day.

So, stock markets back in meltdown, world recession looming, government takeover of the banks beginning to unravel.
Is it really the time to devote a whole programme to the very un British activity of showing off?
No wonder you stand accused of dumbing down.

This makes a change from all the doom-and-gloom at the moment - every show, every day seems to be laden with pessimistic debate on the economy. Maybe a lift of spirits is what we need? - it might not solve the economic crisis but it sure as hell won't make it worse!

"Maybe a lift of spirits is what we need?" Perhaps that's true, but how many people will have their spirits lifted listening to posh people talk about sailing and rowing?

More than will be lifted by hearing yet another Peston "market-moving" scoop!
Maybe if the media shut up we'd have the morning news of the markets going up continuing to be reported all day instead of being told at lunchtime that they've nose-dived again because of confidence-shaking fears over some report or another.
Perhaps the media should shut up and let the traders trade instead of worrying about minor things hyped into disasters by the media?
I can't help but think they're not helping much!
How about it, Victoria? - a week of so of phone-ins on positive things and absolutely nothing to do with the economy or stabbing each other and the rest of the doom-and-gllom the media seems to be hell-bent on dwelling on and shoving down our throats morning, noon and night?!
