Put your questions to Vaughan and Bopara

Adam Mountford Adam Mountford | 16:56 UK time, Wednesday, 8 October 2008

Former England captain Michael Vaughan will be joining Mark Saggers for what promises to be a fascinating Cricket Special during Thursday night's 5 Live Sport.

Vaughan will be joined by England and Essex all-rounder Ravi Bopara and by two former Middlesex bowlers who will be part of the Test Match Special team this winter, Simon Hughes and Angus Fraser.

Vaughan will have the opportunity to put the record straight on the numerous stories which have been reported in recent months since his emotional resignation as England captain. It will be interesting to hear what his plans are for getting back into the England side and whether he has got close to considering giving up the game completely. I am sure the vast majority of not only England supporters but cricket fans in general desperately hope Vaughan can get back to the sort of form which has made him one of the most attractive players in recent years. He will always be remembered as the captain who led England to regain the Ashes in that dramatic summer of 2005, but we should not forget the brilliance of his batting, the highlight of which came with his three centuries in Australia during the series of 2002/2003.

It will also be very interesting to hear Vaughan's views on the Stanford Super Series match which, if it goes ahead, could earn England's Twenty20 team £500,000 each. Some critics of the event have suggested that it is grossly unfair that the likes of Samit Patel, who has only been part of the international set up for a few months, are set to share in the Antigua bonanza whilst Vaughan, who has played a pivotal role in the success of the England team, will not receive a cent.

Ravi Bopara is Antigua bound and it will be fascinating to get an insight from him about whether he is concerned about the Stanford game causing disruptions within the team. Bopara will also be reflecting on his fantastic season with Essex which led him to be voted young player of the year and put him again among the thoughts of the England selectors.

Plus Simon Hughes and Angus Fraser will both be on hand to offer their views on all these subjects plus England's winter tours of India and the West Indies and the build up to next summer's much-anticipated Ashes series.

If you have any questions you would like to ask the panel then feel free to post them on this blog and I will be delighted to pass them onto Mark Saggers for the programme. And don't forget to tune in Thursday from 1900 BST on 5 Live.
