Chilli Sauce For Peter?

Mark Devenport | 16:51 UK time, Monday, 16 November 2009

Our First Minister Peter Robinson has just squeezed into the Village Magazine's 100 most influential people, coming in last one place behind Denis Desmond, the part owner of the Abrakebabra fast food chain.

The magazine ranks him below fellow northerners Gerry Adams (ranked 69), Seamus Heaney (47) and President Mary McAleese (34).

    Mark,

I knew Gerry was a butcher but not in the way the magazine lists it.

    VILLAGE KEEK

Plaudits from this waste of cyberspace hardly enhance reputations.

PS: Stormont: After leaving school McGuinness entered the butchery business, a trade at which he has been extremely successful to this day. [Adams was a barman but has done a bit of butchery in his time]

Lets try to be honest here. Robinson is a nobody, nothing. Just a hat on a stick. He is not influential in N.I, he is reactive. Adams, however, is influential. Robinson works in the Assembly, Adams is the reason it exists. Adams is the reason we are no longer being searched entering or leaving the city centre. Adams (and McGuiness) put the nail bombers out of business. They changed the political environment here, Robinson reacted to that change.

Heaney is a big hitter internationally and Mary McAleese is the head of state of a country. Some people here need to grow up. Piling the hate onto your political enemies just makes your views seem pathetically sectarian and partisan.

No, I am not a republican, no I am not a nationalist and no I am not a christian. I am capable however, of accepting that those people who I disagree with politically, do have some degree of influence and also capable of accepting that those I disagree with politically may sadly, have more influence on my life than those I do agree with.
