Wen Jiabao's 'Confidence Trip' to Europe

Post categories:

James Reynolds | 12:30 UK time, Saturday, 31 January 2009

China's Premier Wen Jiabao is currently on a tour of Europe. The Chinese state media calls it his "Trip of Confidence".

Mr Wen's last stop is the UK. Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown has given a written interview to China's state-run news agency, Xinhua, praising ties between the two countries.

I'm sure we'll hear from Mr Wen himself when he's in the UK.

Here's what I want to know: if you could interview China's Premier, what would you ask him?

I'll come up with my own questions in a bit - but I'm interested to hear yours first.

I will ask him what solutions he has in mind to address the high unemployment problem faced by the hundreds and thousands of migrant workers from the rural areas in China.

What will China do to survive world economic crisis? How will UK do to maintain its world financial center position? Is there anything that China and UK can learn from each other, if yes, what?

Mr Hague got in your face with this "We always in our meetings with Chinese leaders raise issues of human rights and Tibet."

So Wen, when are you gonna take the gloves off?

Since the crisis started the BBC and another western medias are selling bad news about the Chinese economy like no other nation is in a mess but yours.
And there are hints of regime change for China because of the high unemployment rate and company closings which no other country have to face.

Why are they saying those thing?

Here are some of my questions:
    1. What will you do to create jobs for millions of immigrant workers? What measures will you take to make sure they can really join the city drawers and stop being the second class citizens? When will you see them become the middle class of our society being the backbone of our economy?
    2. What will you do to make sure the billions of dollars that you spend right now will not only pop up the GDP figures for the time being but also provide the long term health to china's economy?
    3. When will you stop reimbursing official's dinner bills and start to use taxpayer's money wisely on education, healthcare and social security? Instead of building roads and bridges to nowhere, why don't you spend more money on building the software other than the hardware of China?

    Good questions!jeffinvade!
u've got the point!!CORRUPTION is a serious problem for chinese goverment.
some local goverments only pay attention to their career achievements, never cared about citizens' advantage.
Plus, gov have to improve working efficiency, time and money were wasted due to low-efficiency of goverment
