Golden handshake
I can only apologise for the lack of links that some have highlighted in the comments. I'm still getting to grips with the software which is why you're getting a minimalist experience. I'll get the hang of it just as Betsan returns.
If I were capable of embedding links I would direct you to my colleague David Cornock's blog where he has the photo of Carwyn Jones and Gordon Brown I told you about yesterday. He's inviting captions too. Truly interactive.
I can cut and paste urls though with the best of them. Have a look.

I'm Betsan Powys, BBC Wales' political editor. I'll be blogging the inside track on

Well, as the comments were headlined on Plaids own web site, I am sorry to tell you I do not accept it, Plaid lies through it's teeth, and twists the words of far wiser people than anyone on their roster.
Welsh economics is in the deep brown stuff, and no mealy mouthing by Plaid can gainsay that fact. Or remove the stench of mismanagement emanating from Cardiff Bay.
So please Alf, less of your Plaid bull, it doesn't hold water.

Well what I have been following I thought it was the Labour Government in Westminster who are the masters of that.

Actually I suppose I was being unfair to Pliad, because, as you point out, they are all a bunch of twisters and most importantly liars.
Not just the Labour party mMPs, they are all as bad as one another.
If they don't issue outright lies, they prevaricate and procrastinate.
The best comkmet I know, I did use on Welsh TV veriosnm of Questuion Time, a year or so ago.
Q: How'dya tell when a politician is lying?.....
A: When his lips move.
Also...
Q: When is a politicain looking after himself?
A: When he is breathing.
Not a micromillimetre between any of them. So try removing the nasty remark about Labour. OR name all others as well.

I made that remark because they are governing the UK and they are governing on lies, damn lies and statistics and are twisting everything to suit themselves.
Try looking at what they are going to do to the benefits for the disabled and infirm in their Green Paper on Welfare Reform.
Then tell me I am being nasty to the poor little things.

I am not arguing with you, just making sure you strike at the lot.
What the Tories have in store, or what they have so far declared, will impact on the poorly paid and lower class section of society, (remember Thatcher said there is no such thing as society)just as much as what ever the Labour party has or is seen to be doing.
None of 'em is what I said, above seeking their own ends. When in some distant time in the future, it is all put on computers, without the need for 'policies' with slanted agendas, then maybe we will have a system that benefits all. On a purely equal basis.
But somehow my cynicism prevets me from thinking it to be the case.
However, I fear the 'programers' will still have more than their fair share of the say in how the program is designed and engineered.
Much like the way the minority in Wales are engineering the opinion polls that all come out with the results that minority wants.

What Margaret Thatcher said in the interview was ....
... who is society? There is no such thing! There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first. It is our duty to look after ourselves and then also to help look after our neighbour and life is a reciprocal business and people have got the entitlements too much in mind without the obligations, because there is no such thing as an entitlement unless someone has first met an obligation ...
For the full interview ... obligations.
The Conservatives have a difficult job ahead, shrinking government whilst protecting the vulnerable in society ..... and they have to do it, currently no-one else in politics has the backbone, in Wales we have the additional burden in the shape of nationalism, and what a burden it is.

Mapex55.
Yes the Conservatives have said they will do the same or more.
But it is the present Labour Government are doing the things that I have stated.
They are the ones who lied to take us into war. They are the ones who have been in charge while the country has dived into financial destruction.
They are the ones blaming the unemployed for being forced out of work.
They are the ones blaming the sick and infirmed for being ill.
They are the ones who are taking away all our hard fought for democracy.
They are the ones who have made us the people the most spied on in the world.
They are the ones who are making practicaly every one of us criminals through all the new laws they are making to give themselves more power.
I can go on and on.
If as you say the minorities are engineering things to get what they want. Think again, we are being engineered and manipulated in every way, every day, by this Government and its multy millionare friends.
They are the ones blaming everyone and everything for their own greed and incompitencies.
In short they are ones destroying this country not some convenient minority.
