What did you think of The One Show? Guest: Jimmy Osmond
Jimmy Osmond was Adrian and Christine's guest this evening.
David Beckham's beard is in the news. So...
Gyles Brandreth looked at how The Sun newspaper has changed in the 40 years since it was taken over by Rupert Murdoch.
We've heard of 'buyer beware' but Dom Littlewood told us a cautionary tale of a seller who was caught out using an auction website.
Marty Jopson continued to explore the senses. Tonight we heard about hearing. There's more information about hearing aids at the Hearing Aid Council website.
And in Wigan, Ellie Harrison met Nana the nervous donkey.

The Sun is the world's most-read English-language daily newspaper, is it? I think Gyles Brandreth ought to correct himself - it's actually the Times of India.

Brilliant - Gyles goes way back with... Jimmy Osmond! There is definitely no one he does not know!
Re yesterday's post, please attempt to get Brian Sewell on the show after last night's (Brummies being impossible to understand/never spoken to one - I've heard them on the radio) comments to Prescott (who now seems to have a London apartment in Parliament View, 1 Albert Embankment.... as well as the house up north??).

Adrian's usual socialist nonsense about private versus public. Opticians services are heavily in the private sector now and runs rings around the old NHS services and is cheaper. Who knew when Adrian was presenting Working Lunch, surrounded by evil capitalists, he was such a wacky statist.

Another good show but why did they put the pink headcollar on Nana the wrong way round.

pleasant show-Jinny Osmond is very amenable -The Sun is a good read because of its humour-the comments about Robbie Williams this week have been great-keep reading about Leona who could not appear last night-what security firm does Cowell use-Keystone cops-it never used to happen when "Big Tony" was around.

#3 Lab-rat
I think you're being a bit unfair to AC this time, in that specs. have become a fashion accessory as well as a necessity and given the volume, can trade happily in the private sector. Many other medical aid products are indeed a rip -off - hearing aids, mobility scooters, stairlifts, special beds/chairs, to name but a few.
Can't see the Gucci stairlift just yet.

Enjoyed the show. This is how it should be: a lighthearted magazine with a modicum of consumer advice and no political digs.
Pleased to see AC keeping off the alpha male seating poses (though almost one slip!), whilst GB is creditably a bit less in-yer-face with his seated stance.

Re 11 - Gyles is an excellent contributor ro the show... just waiting to see if there exists a guest that he doesn't know :-)
Re 3: wouldn't take much to run rings round the NHS - a prime example of inefficiency... in line with typical government agencies.

Interesting. What happened to the nicknames use on here. Anyone using my computer can see my opinions. I do not like that.

Really enjoyed this evenings piece with Alistair McGowan - could anyone tell me the name of the piece of music playing in the background toward the end? I've heard it several times on Radio 2 and can't get it out of my head.
