What did you think of The One Show? Guests: Alistair McGowan and Ronni Ancona.

Adrian and Christine were joined in the studio by comedians Alistair McGowan and Ronni Ancona for the hour-long Friday show.

In the chessboxing ringGordon Brown has announced that all 16 and 17 year old mums who do not have a home will be placed in 'supervised accommodation'. Anita Rani investigated whether the proposal will provide a system of care for young teenage mothers or could be potentially dangerous.

Gyles Brandreth introduced The One Show to the noble sport of chessboxing (pictured, right).

Reading University student Emily has been helping little owls, so Mike Dilger went to meet her. 

There's a chill in the air. Has Gyles left the office fridge door open again? Nope... it's autumn! The One Show family celebrated this special season.

Adrian in boxing outfitLucy Siegle heard a cautionary tale from a viewer who found himself worse off after signing up to a loyalty scheme.

Sarah Sellers, the daughter of the late actor Peter Sellers, told us what it was like growing up with her famous father.

In Gloucestershire, our bug expert George McGavin told us the truth about 'electric' ants.

George also visited ten year old viewer Kiara at her school. Dr McGavin is her hero!

Arlene Phillips and Phil Tufnell came into the studio to give us the latest news from Strictly Come Dancing.

Marty Jopson got tasty with umami; the fifth fundamental taste alongside sweet, sour, salty and bitter.

And finally, Adrian stepped into the chessboxing ring (pictured, above, in rehearsals) to take on Tim Woolgar, the reigning Heavyweight Champion.
