Adrian and Christine were joined for a special Halloween One Show by Westlife and comedian and Marty Jopson and pumpkinauthor Charlie Higson.

Our mad scientist Marty Jopson (pictured right) gave some younger viewers a zombie makeover.

Michael Mosley looked into spooky phenomenon of déjà vu. What causes the feeling that you're reliving a moment you've lived before?

Tonight was the final of our Children in Need challenge between Lucy Siegle and Michael Douglas.

It's the last day of Garden Watch! Mike and Miranda visited the gardens of Andover where they found creatures of the night.

Dr Sarah Jarvis was in the studio to discuss the consequences of increased life expectancy on health services.

Gyles Brandreth was on the trail of the devilish deeds of unlikely Victorian folk hero, Spring Heeled Jack.

For Children in Need, Lucy Siegle and Michael Douglas are facing their fear of heights in the diving board challenge. Who do you want to see jump off a 10 metre high board?

Anita Rani was in Leeds, where a strike by the city's refuse collectors and street cleaners has been causing a stink for past eight weeks. Our business expert Adam Shaw asked if Britain was heading for a repeat of the 1970's winter of discontent.

And Phil Tufnell was in Angel Islington as part of our series looking at the places on the Monopoly board.

In the chessboxing ringGordon Brown has announced that all 16 and 17 year old mums who do not have a home will be placed in 'supervised accommodation'. Anita Rani investigated whether the proposal will provide a system of care for young teenage mothers or could be potentially dangerous.

Gyles Brandreth introduced The One Show to the noble sport of chessboxing (pictured, right).

Reading University student Emily has been helping little owls, so Mike Dilger went to meet her. 

There's a chill in the air. Has Gyles left the office fridge door open again? Nope... it's autumn! The One Show family celebrated this special season.

Adrian in boxing outfitLucy Siegle heard a cautionary tale from a viewer who found himself worse off after signing up to a loyalty scheme.

Sarah Sellers, the daughter of the late actor Peter Sellers, told us what it was like growing up with her famous father.

In Gloucestershire, our bug expert George McGavin told us the truth about 'electric' ants.

George also visited ten year old viewer Kiara at her school. Dr McGavin is her hero!

Arlene Phillips and Phil Tufnell came into the studio to give us the latest news from Strictly Come Dancing.

Marty Jopson got tasty with umami; the fifth fundamental taste alongside sweet, sour, salty and bitter.

And finally, Adrian stepped into the chessboxing ring (pictured, above, in rehearsals) to take on Tim Woolgar, the reigning Heavyweight Champion.

A new survey suggests that the British have the lowest quality of life despite enjoying the highest level of household income in Europe. Christopher Biggins took to the streets of Britain to ask if money doesn't hold the key to our happiness, then what does?

This week sees Marty Jopson examine each of the five senses. Tonight, it kicked off with touch and pain, and Marty travelled to Leeds Metropolitan University to discover why some people have a higher pain threshold than others.

And Miranda Krestovnikoff witnessed the release of one hundred sand lizards in Dorset.

Adrian and Christine were joined by not one, but two guests for this week's hour-long One Show! Stephen Fry and Mark Carwardine came in to talk about their wildlife series, Last Chance To See.

Last time Stephen Fry was on The One Show, he was ever so modest and declined to be nominated as a national treasure. So, The One Show's Des Coleman took up the challenge to prove once and for all that Stephen does indeed deserve the title!

Madonna is reportedly leaving Britain because she's fed up of being called Madge. So...

In Scotland, Justin Rowlatt looked at the various measures being used to fight the rising numbers of children committing crimes.

Miranda visited Cambridgeshire to see a very special breed of semi-wild horse, the Konik pony.

In the final part of our 'Building Our House' series, One Show architect Jonathan Foyle took a bath, and told us about it. He visited Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke-on-Trent to see examples of the first plumbed-in washing facilities.

Lionel Blair gave us a tour around his childhood home in North London.

Fresh is not always best. Our food man, Jay Rayner explained that the controlled rotting process can lead to a tastier, more tenderised piece of meat. Not be sniffed at etc etc.  

In Hertfordshire, Christine Walkden met George Blackburn and his topiary.

And finally, we welcomed back Arlene Phillips, our One Show Strictly Come Dancing correspondent. She's made her Strictly prediction, and sealed it in an envelope.
