What did you think of The One Show? Guests Martin and Gary Kemp

The One Show Team | 11:59 UK time, Wednesday, 2 September 2009

Adrian and Christine with the Kemp brothers

True! Adrian and Christine were joined by Spandau Ballet brothers Martin and Gary Kemp.

Kemp brothers self portraitLucy Siegle met John Freeborn, one of our greatest ever fighter pilots. John's war began with a fatal mistake, and, as Lucy learned, he's had to live with the consquences ever since.

Anita Rani looked at the new Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). Will it help the sick and suss the scroungers? Have your say here.

Gyles Brandreth explored the ups and downs of working with members of the family.

And finally, Phil Tufnell viewed Big Eyed Art, (it was big in the 1960s and 70s). Art psychologist Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic told us more.

Doodles! The drawing on the right is a self portrait doodle by Martin and Gary Kemp. See more celebrity self portraits in our doodle gallery, here

Great show tonight-A and c back at their best-The Krays, sorry I mean the Kemps were amusing guests-Dr Sarah spoke about GPs "batting" on behalf of their patients-I would like to join her surgery-my GP is as accesible as Lord Lucan-if someone is claiming benefits based on a disability then it should be the GP who assesses that and makes a recommendation on whether benefit should be paid. At least the govt is now being non -discriminatory-if the rest of us are being forced into awful jobs on the minimum wage then disabled people should also do their share!!

The new idea, Get Back To Work: The problem is that it is the people whom interview the people whom are seriously ill that unqualified to give a definitive unbiased assesment; because there are given quotes to fulfill. So the quota situation should never be away to work. As with our Teachers,Police,Firemen, ambulance etc.
I am able to work but had problems claiming because I am self-employed. The money I was claiming for was Job Seekers Allowance but beause I was not achieving any help from any quarter; SS,Council, because I was taking from credit cards to pay into my bank. Now it all has come to a halt,no credit card to draw on and no cash so my whole situation has become one of a bankrupt and creditors breathing down my neck; all because I have a small RAF pension of 200 per month going into a dead account. NOWHERE TO RUN HOW IS THAT FOR A VERY SMALL BUSINESS THANK YOU PM, YOU BORROWED MONEY SO WHERE IS MY LIFE!!! NOT FOR THE WANT OF TRYING.

A good show tonight - the Kemps were really good guests.

Re IB - fitting in a round of golf may have no bearing whatsoever on one's ability to hold down a job.

One Show team - re the self-portrait gallery - enjoyed looking at the drawings, but can you please correct Sharon Corr's surname - it's down as 'Carr'.

Good content tonight but almost marred by the droning midlands whine and mangled NIr-ish vowels of our hosts.Still,at least they sound honest - unlike the dreadful mockney effort bowled over at us rather Blunt-ly by Mr Philip - we know he's posh really!
An item on regional accents - altered in order to fit in to London, might be interesting. What changes are made? How do people react to other accents and dialects?

Great to see Christine and Adrian back in charge!
Please, in future, let the presenters take their holidays one at a time so that we can have some sanity on the programme.

    Suggested stand-in combinations

While Christine is away:- Adrian and the lovely Lucy Segal
While Adrian is away:- Christine and Dan Snow

Still a great programme, keep up the good work!

    a) Do you have to keep Gyles Brandreth on this show?
    b) PLEASE have Neil(Coast)Oliver as a guest, and then offer him the next Dr. Who role!
