We went to Scotland to ask about the decision to free Libyan Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi.

Gyles Brandreth told us about classical composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, most famous for The Lark Ascending, and explored the British countryside that inspired him.

With the Government giving the go-ahead for a new generation of power plants, it seems nuclear power is here to stay. Lucy Siegle went to investigate.

And finally, infestations usually spell disaster but this summer one English county was hit by a more colourful, and helpful type of insect; the ladybird. George McGavin found out more.

Adrian and Christine are on their hols, so Myleene Klass and John Sergeant are at the helm of The One Show all this week - until 28 August. We're delighted to have them on board!

Myleene and John in The One Show officeMyleene Klass is a classically trained musician, TV & radio presenter and singer. She's presented numerous primetime shows and had great success in the music charts. Myleene is also currently studying astronomy with the Open University.

John Sergeant started his career in journalism in 1967, working at a regional newspaper. He joined the BBC in 1970 where he travelled the world reporting on political issues. Last year, in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing, John won the hearts of the viewers who continually saved him from elimination. He retired early from the competition, fearing he would win.

The nosy neighbour is not a new phenomenon; however Anita Rani recently visited one borough that has started paying its residents to keep an eye on each other. Would you report on a neighbour for a cash reward?

Continuing with our series of films marking the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War, Angellica Bell took three women who worked on the canals during the war years back to the Grand Union Canal.

We also read out more of your wartime stories in the hope of reuniting some wartime friends.

The take up of free bus travel by over-60s has been so great that some local councils are complaining it's costing them too much money.  Anita Rani took a bus ride with some pensioners who won't give up their bus passes without a fight.

And finally, it's 40 years since Lundy Island - famous for its unique wildlife - was bought by The National Trust. Mike Dilger and Miranda Krestovnikoff  decided to pay the island a birthday visit.

Adrian and Christine are on their hols so Gloria Hunniford and Gethin Jones are at the helm of the show all this week - until 21 August.  We're delighted to have them on board!

Gloria Hunniford has been presenting TV and radio programmes for over 30 years.  She was the first woman to have her own daily radio show on BBC Radio 2 and has also presented shows such as Gloria Live, Wogan, Holiday, Songs of Praise, Heaven and Earth and That's Showbusiness. She is currently presenting BBC Two's Castle In The Country.

Gethin Jones co-presented Blue Peter for over three years from 2005.  He's also presented TV programmes such as BBC Young Musician of the Year awards and BBC Proms in the Park. He currently presents a show on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Both Gloria and Gethin have taken to the floor in Strictly Come Dancing; Gethin was a contestant in 2007 and Gloria appeared in 2005.

Rav Wilding found out how "log book loans" could see you watching your new car, and money, drive off into the sunset.

And finally, Dan Snow explored Britain's battlefields and what's being done to take care of them.
