I live in Northamptonshire and we hate rape seed and would never encourage anyone to buy it. Why you ask? well this is what we have to put up with. The farmers use gas guns to ward off pigeons who feed on the young plants. The guns discharge all the light hours of the day from end of October to beginning of June virtually every minute of the day. We have contacted our MP & enviromental health office who say it is governed by the NFU who have set the rules. Each farmer can set the guns to blast virtually six blasts every 15minutes and it can be very near to our villages. This is besides the awful smell rape flowers give off in April May and (and the smell can induce my asthma problems. The smell of cabbages continues in August and when harvested the rape seed flies all come into our houses-so what's so healthy about it Don't buy it for our sakes and let us live our lives in the villages??????
