What did you think of The One Show? Guest: Clarke Peters
Tonight Adrian and Christine were joined by 'The Wire' star, Clarke Peters.
Marty Jopson looked at the world through a pinhole, in his film about pinhole cameras.
Dom Littlewood investigated credit card charges.
For the memory week finale, Michael Mosley examined the fascinating links between memory and smell. Can you remember all of our memory films? Watch them all again here and don't forget to take our in-depth memory test. Professor Robert Logie from the University of Edinburgh has analysed the results here.
How much do you remember about tonight's show? Test yourself with our fun memory quiz to find out.
And with the London Marathon taking over the capital this Sunday, Sally Gunnell told us how the modern marathon came to be. Good luck to those taking part!

One comment so far and it's 19.45 - is that a record? The guest tonight, with whom I am unfamiliar, seemed very likeable indeed and spoke very well. What a contrast to other more well-known actors on very recently...

Done the memory test, 7 out of 10.

I think Clarke Peters might well be the coolest man on the planet.
And on an extremely shallow note, Christine has been looking absolutely gorgeous the last few days - If I had the opportunity to photograph her, I certainly wouldn't be focusing on her hand ;) .

What's happened to Christine the Gardening Guru? Haven't seen her for AGES and it's Springtime!! Has she been speaking out of turn?
And where's Ryan to answer our questions?
Or have the Powers That Be decided to leave all posters to their own devices now?
I can't remember Christine's dress either - but I liked the lilac one she wore on Thursday.

I agree, this blog has gone surprisingly quiet. I had put a provocative piece at #35 on the Ricky Tomlinson blog: but to no avail it seems. Anyway, here is the blog again repeated for the weekend. In the meantime I am going to investigate Christine's dress on the BBC i Player.
Whilst thinking about the idea of English independence I wondered why not go a step further and regain part of the Empire? I have realised that if England were to become the 51st state of the USA we would have an English President of the USA within one generation. This because the American electoral system relies to some extent on density of population. We would have re-colonised them. Try this premise on your American friends. It's great fun.

Hi, Could Domonic please help us.He talked about possibly getting money back from credit Card companies who made people pay interest over £12.00 at time. Our relatives have had this, at charges of £25.00 Does this information from the Finacial organistation involved cover charges over £12.00 from banks.(Again charges are regularly charged to our children of £25.00 each time they over draw for the smallest of items.
Thankyou for your help in this matter.
regards Grandadiggy.

I am the guy from Surrey who appeared in the credit card reclaiming piece last night and wish to correct a couple of points.
Fitstly, only a court can decide what is a "fair" charge level and no credit card provider has yet been willing to test the actual fairness of their charges in a court environment, basically because it means they would have to disclose their true costs, so currently there is no such thing as a “fair” credit card charge level.
The £12 current level of charge is actually the figure that the Office of Fair trading suggested, in their April 2006 report, as being a level of charge below which they would not take enforcement action against a credit card provider. As a result of the OFT’s report all of the credit card providers dropped their charges to the £12 level in the summer of 2006.
The £12 figure is not a "fair" charge level. According to experts the actual cost to the credit card company of handling a late payment or over credit limit situation is probably something like £2.50.
Consumers have historically been charged up to £35 per default ( currently £12 ) and there is absolutely nothing to stop individuals from reclaiming all of these charges ( in their entirety ) from their credit card provider because they are considered both unlawful and unfair under common law and statute.
There is also a lot of confusion surrounding the time period over which individuals can reclaim charges. Most people seem to think it is limited to 6 years. In fact there is nothing to stop individuals reclaiming every single charge ( in their entirety ) not just for six years but for the entire lifetime of their credit card account.
Regards Graham

Hi,Watching the show on Friday,Sally Gunnells' ' The London Marathon 'reminded me of The Peoples Marathon that used to take place in Chelmsley Wood back in the late seventies/early eighties. Does anyone remember them? Sorry I do not remember the exact years only that it was before The London Marathon. It would be great to see if you can find out anything about them.

The lavender and memory experiment was interesting, particularly as lavender has recently been shown to alleviate anxiety http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7977562.stm
