What did you think of the show? Bryn and Nessa, guests

Host_Ryan - One Show team | 15:05 UK time, Monday, 9 March 2009

Rob Brydon, Ruth Jones, Adrian and Christine (with red noses!)

Gavin and Stacey's Nessa and Bryn a.k.a. Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones joined us to kick off The One Show's Comic Relief week.

As part of a series of three films for Comic Relief Christine travelled to Uganda to highlight the help that's needed there. In an emotional first film Christine visited the Tsambya slums of Kampala where she met a young girl, whose mother had died of AIDS and who is now bringing up her five brothers and sisters.

Watch the film again here.

Plus: Play our celebrity self portrait game and find out more about placing a bid on the Comic Relief One Show celebrity doodle book.

And: Watch all our Comic Relief films here.

Also on the show: With interest rates at a historic low, Lucy Siegle looked into whether now is a good time to overpay on your mortgage.

Hardeep Singh Kohli discovered what's popular in the world of tattoos at the International Tattoo Show in Manchester. Watch an exclusive video showcasing Hardeep's favourite tattoos here.

And Des Coleman looked at the story behind the song 'I'm the Urban Spaceman'.

Somewhat ironic that on thursdays One Show there was a feature on domestic violence agianst men, perpetrated by female partners.

Then in Fridays episode of Eastenders Stacy walks into the Vic and punches her boyfriend Callum full in the face in an unprovoked assault gving him a blooded lip.

All part of our social conditioning that its OK for women to slap, hit or punch a man in a domestic setting and that its masculine for a man to take it and not respond.

Obviously the message is that its acceptable for a woman to hit a man.

In light of the treatment meted out to a former member of the One Show team who was promptly dismissed in a similar incident (although not on air) will Chiles suffer the same fate? If not, why not? He is also guilty of opening his mouth without engaging his brain - or have we been treated to his and the One Shows true opinion of our armed service personnel? Don't they have feelings too? It has to be said Adrian, in my view, is not fit to shine their boots. If any of you on the show are truly contrite (although I doubt it) then devote a whole show to highlighting the GREAT service all our soldiers, sailors and airmen and women are doing for our country (whether we agree with the 'war' or not) and reveal the injustice of under-funded equipment, poor pay and housing and medical treatment and the struggle of life after discharge for many? And please, let's not have another example of double standards...
