Adrian Chiles did not make an apology for his comments last night about our servicemen.
We all know that many decent people take time to make their views known on this blog but the One Show production team take no notice.
Why does this show have a blog if there is no interactive benefit for us the TV licence payers?
We all requested/demanded an apology but we are all disappointed with BBC 1 and The One Show.
Jay Hunt was quick to sack Carol Thatcher but does not even reprimand Chiles.

I was very interested in the section on micro loans. Do you have a link for more details, please?
If I make a loan to this scheme do I eventually get the money I loaned back?
Or is it just re-loaned until it is defaulted upon or absorbed in administration costs?

The presenter really excelled tonight in proving the absolute contempt that he has for the viewer, and dare I point out, his paymasters. Does Chiles honestly believe we think he has no knowledge of the discontent he has stirred. By the way this does have bearing on tonight's show Mr. Host, as I watched fully expecting an apology. Foolish foolish me!

One Show Moaners, PLEASE, find another hobby. You are all so predictable and endlessly boring. You don't like the show, the presenters or anything that just doesn't agree with you and your views. Fine. We all know it and from your endless blogs to yourselves or each other read it night after night. Ok i know you'll attack me with your self righteous comebacks but WHY do you watch or have you nothing better to do? There you are, go for it! It'll keep you happy all evening till beddytimes. Last night Adrian Chiles said the following in the context of tattos.
He said, "They are the preserve of rockers, servicemen, prisoners and general low life, really."
Do you find his remark acceptable? I and others found his remark offensive to HM Forces. I watched tonight to see if he would clarify his statement or apologise. He did not.
I thought the tone of tonight's show was puerile. Though Adrian Chiles did seem to have a lot of energy. Christine carried herself well.

The One Show's executive producer has said to the Sunday Telegraph that the One Show is"gloriously Reithian". Do you think that Lord Reith would have tolerated Adrian Chile's remark in which he lumped
HM Forces with prisoners and low life?
I like Annie Lennox tonight. It would have been good to hear some of her music. But I suppose that there was not time.

Concerning the tattoos; I infer from your comments that Adrian Chiles can be excused because you believe that the sentiment he expressed was maybe not his own. Maybe it wasn't. Who knows? Does it matter? The 'only following orders' excuse will not wash. I have looked at the recording. He was not watching the autocue and neither was he reading from his script. The evidence suggests to me that the words were indeed his own. I cannot accept that anyone would have been so careless as to write those words in advance.
I agree, Annie Lennox was good.

Highland Fling , you do not wish to find any problem with the presenters and that is your prerogative, however I do wish you did not find it necessary to belittle my lifestyle. Even if Adrian did read from a script surely he is professional enough to read it through before going on air. Do you think anyone from the BBC reads these posts I can only think not otherwise they would know they had upset viewers & would issue an apology!

Chiles is smarmy and horrible. Please if there is anybody in charge left with any decency at BBC..GET RID OF HIM! (Or employ me, I could be just as useless and I'd do it for a fraction)
PS Suggestion- Stop wasting money on those stupid bits of silly nonsense between programmes, what's wrong with a spinning globe with BBC underneath. They annoy the hell out of me especially the one with people kicking footballs.

The One Show has improved immeasurably since the departure of the egregious Carol Thatcher. Hardeep and Phil Tuffnell are absolute gems and Annie Lennox came across as a rare example of a highly articulate rock star whose work for good causes is not a pose but obviously authentic and deeply felt . Invite her back, please, but this time let's hear her sing!
