just listened to Morrissey commenting on unemployment, and he commented that the unemployed should start art painting for a living. What an ignorant man, let him do an honest day's work, and get paid peanuts for it, and let him complain, and see if anyone cares about him, he has no idea about the real world.

This show is losing the plot. Morisey has the audacity to appear, obviously to promote his new album, and tells the unemployed to paint. Adrian Chiles smiles. This says it all about the modern culture.

Morrisey? He has all the social skills of a floorboard. This is a classic example of the Emperor's new clothes. I can't believe that Morrisey has managed to fool the rock world for so long. His 'special needs' lyrics and vacant wistful looks may fool some but... please. Tonight's show was a good plug for his latest release (or did it escape?).

The One Show and BBC1 sacked Carol Thatcher after Jay Hunt had telephoned Carol a day or so after the show demanding an apology for the golliwog incident made in private in the green room.
Nobody had complained to Carol in the green room so she asked Hunt who required the apology?
Hunt was not forthcoming and a public apology was inappropriate as the conversation in the green room over drinks was private.

We didn't envy Christine and Adrian having to interview Morrissey bacause he's so anti establishment and anarchical. We would have loved to have been there though, he's a Rock God and his music is peerless. Years Of Refusal sounds great. Long live King Morrissey. Is this blog just for slagging matches, I remember poor Carol being slagged for having dry hair and poorly cut, her clothes were criticized, and also that she needed moisturizer, it was also commented that she wasn't right for the show, look back to the archives, if you can be bothered, I was the only one at that time who stuck up for her, now she has been sacked, you want her back, what a bunch of hypocrites, some of you are, Carol has moved on why can't you lot, I am now waiting to be shot down in flames, but I don't care! How right you are. I was so pleased that Carol was supported 100% by both the studio audience and the telephone callers.
Why can't The One Show now 'come clean' and admit they were wrong in acting so hastily concerning a remark which was made 'off air'.
If it was that offensive to both Adrian Chiles and Jo Brand, why did they not see fit to challenge Carol at the time?

I have suddenly realized how the blog can move on.
The One Show to announce on air who snitched on Carol Thatcher.
The person involved can then announce that he/she is now satisfied Carol Thatcher was sacked and branded a racist.
BBC1 would then issue a warning to all participants of The One Show that private conversations in the green room of this kind must never happen again.

I enjoy Johnathon Foyles reports very much, I hope it runs as long as the host show. Our country has a wonderfully long history---and within that an enless variety of historic buildings, in many historic market towns the length and breadth of the country. It's pathetic, a person who isn't a fan telling him to retire?! I can't believe you can be so insecure that you feel the need to slag him off on here, you'd be forgiven to thinking he'd murdered somebody.

Im a huge fan of The One Show. However, I am not a fan of Morrisey and was appalled by his comment on White Collar workers who have found themselves un-employed. We should have sympathy for the people who have found themselves unemployed for the first time in 30 years. The reason they have been employed for so long is because of the hard work they put in, day in day out to stay in that job and provide for their fanily. If we all dossed around on the pretense of being "artistic" where would that leave us. I am an artist in my spare time, but I am realistic and realise that a living can't be made from my drawing alone (unfortunately).
Morrisey, keep your comments to yourself and get in the real world. By the way, your songs are dreary and depressing and I think I'd be as miserable as you if I had writen them!

It is difficult for Adrian to appear sympathetic about unemployment when his own attitude is: "Think and say the things I want you to think and say or you're out of a job."
He could at least have attempted wit. He could have said "There's three million unemployed now - actually three million and one after what we did to Carol."
Why are the guests so spineless? Why has none of them said "golliwog" on air, to cheer us up and make us laugh as the camera cuts to Adrian's expression.
Surely there are some guests on the show who don't fear the malice of BBC executives?

Dear One Show Production Team,
Would you possibly consider (post Luv week) presenting a piece on the perils of the dating game from the perspective of a non PC BBC Nu-Labour indigenous heterosexual male in 21st century?
Perhaps providing a PC BBC Nu-Labour guide to dating for those males that fall into this minority category.
Last night for example I went to a drinks function organised by some of my clients.
During the work related function a thirties something female (with whom I’m professionally familiar) approached me and initially engaged me on the subject of professional matters.
The lady in question then asked me a series of questions about my ideal woman and my preferred bed time reading. I’m ashamed to admit it but I was having problems providing her with a comprehensive answer as I was distracted by her work place attire, knee length leather boots, skirt slightly above the knees, patterned tights with discreet cleavage.
In a post BBC ‘Green Room’ world, where the work place and alcoholic beverage collides, what was I to do?
Should I have admitted to her that Stephanie Flanders the BBC economics editor is my ideal women and that I’m currently reading Tin Tin’s Adventures In The Congo at bedtime?
In a post ‘Green Room’ world should I just inform on myself and hand myself into the New labour thought police for having sexist thoughts in the work place and not showing my female client the professional respect she deserves?
Clearly my thoughts were inappropriate and constituted sexism in the work place. I need to discipline myself not to be visually stimulated by the way women dress in the work place.
Clearly until I'm clensed of these thoughts I must avoid any One Show Green Room type situations.

Let us get this Morrisey thing into perspective. He is a singer songwriter; and that's all he is albeit a very good one. It does not matter one iota what his political opinions are. So he does not appear to care about the unemployed. So what - who cares what he thinks. His views are no more important than those of the man in the pub. In his defence, I cannot overlook the possibilty that he was bored by Chiles' fawning interview, and that he was vainly trying to inject some life into a dull show.

This type of dating was not explained on the Luv Week slot last week on the One Show.
What on earth is she referring to? Realise I’m woefully naive and out of my depth with some predatory females.
Perhaps ‘Role Play’ refers to a PC BBC New Labour workshop where non PC males learn to confront their demons and change into new men.
