Get spotting! Mike Dilger has asked for a special announcement.
This weekend (24th-25th January 2009) is the RSPB's Big Garden Bird Watch (visit the external website here for more information).
Andrew Lloyd Webber was tonight's guest. He chatted about his quest to find a star to represent Britain in Eurovision.
Paddy O'Connell discussed criminals and their crocodile tears.
Des Coleman uncovered the stories behind the national anthem. Join the conversation - does Britain need a new anthem?
Mike Dilger got down and dirty with bats on the underground.
And Michael Mosley tested anti-wrinkle creams. More information about the face cream ingredient to look out for, here.

On the subject on criminals and their crocodile tears. Is this method full proof? What about people such as autistic and people with Asperger's Syndrome. They do not understand body language and cannot express body language. So how can you tell if they are lying or not?? Just a thought

Adrian and Christine should try to stop those idiots who think that we can't watch and listen anything without a row going on in the background (laughing described as 'music') from ruining their show like the many others that they seem intent on making unwatchable.

the thing with anti-wrinkle creams, is that none of them work. What actually works is the massaging of the skin, i know cuz i've tried it, not to the extent of hours every day, but when i was first told this i had a go for a short while and they do gradually go away. However, to maintain the effects, a lot of time would be needed on a daily basis. So, it's really a waste of time using products, cuz as the show proved-results are not really effective.

Why does the BBC persist on having Adrian Chiles as a host on this show. Any show with a male and female presenter have people who are pleasant and interesting and compliment each other. Adrian Chiles does none of these. When he has been off and replaced with somebody lke Mathew Wright, the program changes completely for the better, Adrian Chiles may be well qualified but he is arrogant, ignorant, bland, has no character or charisma and completely spoils the show in my opinion.
Christine on the other hand may be a little dizzy but this adds to her charm, she is always warm and cheerfull and chatty with people on the show whereas Chiles is sullen and very ignorant when talking to guests etc.
I know this won't make any difference but I feel that you should know that he spoils what could be a very good magazine programme at prime time in the evening. He puts me off so much I prefer to watch other channels if they have something at least even slightly less interesting than 'the one show'

I want to say that I think Adrian & Christine are a great team, such a refreshing change from all the saccarine hosts that abound. Love Adrian's slight grumpyness. Keep it up Adrian.

Can you please change Adrian and Christine around on the sofa. I can't concentrate on the programme content because I am waiting for either Adrian to fall off the end or for Christine to fall onto him. Hasn't anyone told her to STOP leaning into him all the time. Please give the man some space.

Adrian and Christine work well together. They complement one another, or rather, they work well as a comedy duo. Christine laughs at Adrian because he is so implacably unmoved by everthing. Adrian refuses to laugh which makes Christine laugh at him all the more. It works. Keep it up. This is what we expect ... it sets us up to laugh at the 'in-joke' going on between them. If they were both bright, cheerful and positive then Adrian and Christine would lose their individual characteristics and the show would be very bland indeed.

Message for Host Ryan if you read the blogs before transmission. Preview of tonight's show says in search of the ALLUSIVE otter!! Come on Beeb. You know the word should be ELUSIVE. Find the guilty culprit and make them write the correct word 100 times and learn! Dear me.

Sorry, Host Ryan, I didn't see message above till later but by then the mistake had been rectified. Thanks for being so interactive with us bloggers though. It's good to know we are being read and notice taken. Do hope by the way that you weren't responsible for the error. I like to imagine it was a keen and enthusiastic researcher whose spelling can be a little "wonky" at times. Hope they are out of detention now. All is forgiven.

O.K. which politically correct little snitch was it. The UK gets more like 1984 every day (or East Germany under the Stasi).
Have always enjoyed the show but will boycott it until you bring Carol back.
