i'm sorry but your wednesday episode implied that alchoholism was a desease?
i am an alchoholic and i know it is a habit not a desease!
i'm now 8 months sober and realised that boredom led to my drinking which in turn led to depression and anxiety.i also became very anti-social,but i reiterate it isn't a desease as stated it is a habit and with the right help and counciling it can be defeated along with the desire and willpower to stop the habit of drinking.

why are you becoming like other BBC shows. (ie the breakfast show) You all seem to be trying to educate the public to be different. It is as if the BBC has been mandated to change people to not drink, not eat certain food, do not drop litter, do not ... etc etc. etc....

it is like a TV show(?The Prisoner) with sublimal messages trying to change people without them knowing what is happening to them.....

I thought that the detox experiment was quite revealing of just how much people can be mislead with a few made up scientific terms, but the best bit was the look on Christine's face when Adrian drank the wheat-grass drink. Any chance of that being the photo for tonights episode?

As for the best comeback, there can only be one winner - Pink Floyd's reunion at live 8. Everything else just pales in comparison.

I do enjoy the show and many of the items are very interesting but would Adrian do us the courtesy of smartening up.

His guests make the effort and Christine looks great but Adrian looks as if has just come off a building site or fallen out of his local pub.
Come on Adrian drop this 'bloke/slob' image, comb your hair and buy some new clothes.

Perhaps the One Show could have an online or programme survey asking viewers how he could look better?

This may sound stupid but has nobody else noticed that when both Christine and Adrain are on the sofa it always looks as though Adrain is perched and hanging off the end. Could Christine not move up the sofa just to give him some more room?

As usual, the show tonight was very entertaining and, as a viewer in Brussels, Belgium, it allows my mam and I to keep up to date with life in the UK. I am writing to say that I noticed that Christine Bleakly seems to have a growth in her throat. I do not know how to get in touch with her but would appreciate somebody telling her to see if she should not seek medical help about it. Either that or somebody tell me to mind my own business!

Next time you show Jeffrey Archer before the watershed please give a warning - my daughter had nightmares.

The living a "sustainable" lifestyle is all well and good but not practical for the UK as a whole - just look at the land taken up.

Sorry to disagree, drinking may be a habit but alcoholism is a disease which can have physical effects - including on the brain, some of which can lead to problems during alcohol withdrawl.

Perhaps the One Show's tame GP could clarify this.

Adrian Lester is a lovely man, down to earth and is great in Hustle.

I am very surprised that no-one mentioned it was Christine's birthday on January 20th. No cake for her etc. Happy belated birthday Christine. Miss Yvette M Boddy

Re Adrian Lester - I know I'm probably the only one, but I enjoyed Bonekickers - who cares if it was unrealistic , it wasn't meant to be a documentary - I am sure Spooks and CSI are incredibly unrealistic portrayals of MI5 and the work of forensic scientists.

I sat down with my 8 year old daughter to enjoy the show, only to have to protect her innocence immediately by switching channels. Is streaking now an amusement rather than a criminal offence? Or is it only acceptable if carried out by "celebrities"?Is it not the height of disrespect to show naked men on a family TV programme, and indeed to be seen to be encouraging all age groups to laugh rather than to see bad behaviour for what it is? What would you suggest I tell my daughter as to what makes this acceptable to society?
Sorry Adrian, I used to like you on "Workng Lunch". Now I am worried what immoral comments/behaviour you will get up to next.

Your official statement about the "remark" made by Carol Thatcher states " (the)remark made by Carol Thatcher in The One Show Green Room last Thursday caused considerable offence. There are several interesting issues here. To whom was the remark made? And were they offended? What exactly was the remark? What was the context? In what manner was the comment made? And here is the important issue. We do not know what was said or who complained. Remind you of anything? It reminds me of the secret denouciation so favoured of totalitarian regimes. If the comment had been made in a broadcast we would have a record of what was said. But here we don't have that. Nor do we have anybody, as far as I have seen, go on record to give a verbatim report. A major over reaction on the part of the BBC and one cannot but conclude that there was another agenda behind the reaction if only to make an example.
Thankfully I have never been a "The One Show" viewer and for sure this is one show I will continue to avoid.
A postscript - oh if only we could have a vote on the licence fee!
