What did you think of the show? (16/12/08)

Melanie Grant - One Show team | 11:58 UK time, Tuesday, 16 December 2008

Adrian and Christine by Adam Morley

Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park and the voice of Wallace's new love interest, actress Sally Lindsey were guests on tonight's show. And in honour, the talented One Show viewers created their own models of Adrian and Christine. See for yourself!

We also paid tribute to the late Oliver Postgate, whose animations helped revolutionise children's television in the 60s and 70s. Clare Balding went back in time to fondly remember all those Sunday afternoons in front of the telly.

Lucy Siegle investigated the strain put on the NHS as women experience complications from having comestic surgery abroad.

Christine Walkden looked at the story behind one of our most familiar and festive plants - poinsettias. Do you know how to get them red again?

Neil Oliver looked at the events that led to an ordinary looking stone going on an extraordinary journey to coincide with the release of the Stone of Destiny.

    'The Stone of Destiny'

At the beginning of the piece the reporter talks about Westminster Abbey, while standing outside. However, the inside shots are of Westminster CATHEDRAL, which is the Catholic cathedral just down the road on Victoria Street.

    Sloppy!!!

The Cornish stones shown were the Lanyon Quoit miles from the Table Mayen stone ---- Table Mayen is a single large granite block in Mayen close, Sennen, near Lands end. Another sloppy bit of editing

Yes youmissedabit beat me to it, but then I was watching on delay. The inside was definitely of Westminster Cathedral and not Westminster Abbey. It actually showed Mass being celebrated by Archbishop Cormac Murphy O'Connor. Other than that love the show.

No Wallace and Gromit text message for me either. I've tried three times without success. Even sending a one word text message hasn't worked.

I am surprised that nobody mentioned The Holy Stone of Clanrichert, which of course was originally at Fermanagh but was later taken to Craggy Island (as it was not doing very good business there)
The Holy Stone is the main attraction on the island since it was upgraded to a Class II relic.
It was briefly moved following an altercation between Father Jack and a Bishop, when Jack caused the relic become to lodged in a temporarily new resting place - the bishop himself!

We were so looking forward to seeing Nick Park. I realise the show is only half an hour but having him sit there with everything else swirling around him and hardly asking him a question was, we thought, very unfair. Equally Bette Midler the day before, looking as if she wondered why she was there. I was hoping for some mention of Creature Comforts and the interviews Nick does for his creatures. Shame. Don't ask people to come on if you're not going to give them some time.
