What did you think of the show? (25/11/08)

Host_Ryan - One Show team | 13:23 UK time, Tuesday, 25 November 2008

Stand up comedian Dara O'Briain joined us in The One Show studio.

Michael Mosley taking the stress testJustin Rowlatt explored 'Right To Buy', which gives people the opportunity to buy their council owned home. Some believe this scheme has led to an even greater shortage of affordable housing and are calling for its demise. What are your thoughts? Do you think that 'Right to Buy' should be scrapped?

Ever wondered "what makes a genius?" The One Show's Iain Lee met Malcolm Gladwell, author of a new bestseller. He claims that 10,0000 hours of practice is needed if you're to become really good at anything.

It's Stress Week on The One Show and Michael Mosley met with busy working Mum Jo Oxtoby. Why are mums so stressed?

Watch exclusive videos of John Barrowman and Michael Mosley (pictured above) taking the stress test backstage at The One show. Take the stress test yourself here.

And Lucy Siegle met with John and Anne Mckie from Poplar in London who have hired our their home to Spooks to use as a film location. Would you rent out your home to a film crew?

Well guys, after last nights programme I went to take the stress test.

Guess what after taking it the system said it wasnt working so....

I took it again 2 or three times with the same problem.

By this time I suppose I was by now getting stressed

Was this part of the test???

Anyway, I went to Destress and have just taken it again withthe 8 Result.

In view of the previous Stress Problems created by the Test itself I was surprised it was so low.

Then, I decided to put this on the blog.. Setting the membership was nearly as stressfull as the Stress Test...

Had to try more Blog names before it took me on, then mess about with sending more
E.mails and clicking here and there.

It was becoming like the daily crossword. One guy thinks it up and it takes him half an hour and then several million people spend another 10 minutes to half a day solving it..

    No wonder there is STRESS!

Come on Guys make things more simple....

I love the show, but dont just put one side of a issue on air. The person who turned to drink, didn't pay their mortgage, and lost their home. Of course he wants a council place. You should have put on a due to be married couple on who have applied for a house, who havent turned to drink etc.
Fed up with sob stories. Take responibility for your own actions.
soon we will have 5 to a bedroom going back 100 years.
Just please make the issue fair.

hello everyone i thuught that i would just put how i feel about the whole council house issue so... I believe that we do have a right to buy council houses as long as they build more houses to balance the whole issue. loved the show, as ever, keep up the good work of putting a smile on my face every weekday at 7:00.

We've seen John and Dara take the stress test, as well as Adrian of course but what about Christine? Strictly Come Dancing hasn't put her stress levels of the scale has it?

As for the council house issue whilst i know it's hard to find affordable housing and that people need council help, surely if they are in a position to buy their council house they can't be that bad off? Give people houses to live in whilst they get things sorted for however long it might take them by all means but why do they then need to buy the home?

In many other European countries the percentage of people who actually own their own home is a lot lower than it is in this country. Instead people are happy to simply rent a property and even in this country there is no shame in simply renting is there? I don't see why council's shouldn't keep the houses, so that they can be given to those who need them most. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be able to stay in their council house, but does it really matter that much about whether you own it or the council does?

Enjoyable as always but I was a bit taken aback by Justin's piece - it seems a bit counter-intuitive to me about moth-balling right-to-buy (though I was never in favour!) - surely the houses would still be occupied whether the occupant was paying rent or mortgage? Care to explain tomorrow, Justin?
From her face and reaction during the "get Dara back for his joke on Mock the Week" piece, Christine would do really, really well in 'Strictly Come Acting'! Well played!
And please, Adrian, if those stress results are real and you honestly didn't just tick the right hand boxes - do take care. Live TV must by its nature be stressful - but I for one certainly don't want to lose you to burn-out... please, for all our sakes, don't just listen to any advice you've been given but act on it!
Thanks one and all for another great programme.

Quite simply, you are the best show there .Christine I can't vote as I live in France bt you get a thousand votes every time you smile which is always and I'm older than John and would love just one dance ,and I'm tons better than he is .
One question why are we always told that the judges have 50% of the votes when they patently do not can someone tell me if the system is anything other than phone voting. Not only are you a lovely dancer you never winge when you get criticism, unlike every one else, but then you are so much brighter anyway.
Adrian sorry that West brom aren't doing better many years ago I ran a footie league is Aberystwith Mini-minor and our team Borth Tornadoes wore West Brom shirts donated by the then chairman f West Brom who had a house in Borth and was a good friend we were very excited when they got promoted and although we don't suffer quite you agonies we do suffer.thank you both for a very interesting and witty show.

The reason Adrian is so stressed is that the poor man can't keep control of all those sheets of yellow paper. whereas calm Christine staples them together.

Last night's show was brilliantly funny where the backstage team showed their reactions to Diara's throwaway comments on his show. Great stuff! Love the way the whole team are becoming part of the show. And why don't any of the guys who shoot the films, do the interviews or even Dave the props man get any recognition at the end? They deserve to be acknowledged. Geat show, keep it going.

This is a magazine programme not an extension of the news for gods sake and Adrian .....STOP BEING SO BLEEDING MISERABLE.

Loved the show as usual, especially Christine managing not to smile when guilt-tripping Dara for mocking The One Show (how very dare he!! ;-) ), but what I really want to say is, much as I love seeing her on the sofa with Adrian, GIVE CHRISTINE SOME TIME OFF!!! Two dances a week in Strictly now and I am desperate to see Christine and Matthew take the Glitterball, so come on, One Show bosses, give the girl a fighting chance and give her all the training time she needs!! Pretty please xxx I thank you :-)
