What did you think of the show? (04/11/08)

Dom Littlewood and lookalike

Zoe Ball joined Christine and Adrian on the One Show sofa.

Dom Littlewood told us about identity fraud and the ways we can protect ourselves from someone stealing our personal details. Click here for Dom's simple tips. Have you had your identity stolen? Tell us your story.

Have you ever wondered what goes on in the control room of big organisations? In the first of a new series, Carol Kirkwood went behind the scenes of a water company.

Harry Allen might not be a name you've heard of, but he was one of the country's last hangmen. Gyles Brandreth found out what made men like Harry Allen commit to such an unusual career.

Continuing our Worst Time To Be British series, John Sergeant took us back to a period in the not too distant past - the Blitz. John met Jean Trickett, who recalled hiding under the stairs during a raid and waking up under rubble. What was your worst time?

Another great show today, but I am getting increasingly concerned at how ill Adrian, Christine and all the guests are looking, and by the end of each show I am uncomfortable on their behalf. Their faces have such a green tinge, they all look like relatives of the Incredible Hulk.

I think it is probably somethinge to do with the bilious green sofas that they have to sit on reflecting on their faces. Please, BBC, change the furniture to something with a healthier colour!

Did internationally-renowned journalist John Sergeant REALLY ask a victim of the Coventry Blitz is she had been frightened - or did I mishear?

Why does this programme, adertised to start at 1900, actually start at 1856 or is this just another example of the BBC's falling standards?

I loved Zoe Ball simplistic piece on mortality rate of Indian women during childbirth she totally neglected to mention the cast system that keeps the lowest cast in constant poverty with no opportunity within society to better themselves and I feel sure that if she checked the statistics that she will find the majority of the women who die in these circumstances are from the lowest cast.
Zoe also said that they are trying to get 4 million doctors and nurses to go into the developing countries but the mother who died in the piece shown did reach a medical Centre and no doctor would help unless a thousand rupees was paid so I don't see what 4 million doctors and nurses has to do with this particular case but it does prove what an Indian friend of mine told me many years ago after a visit there and I quote” India will never do any good because no one will help each other unless some sort of payment is involved not even friends or relations” unquote and it looks like nothing has changed.
Rather than outside help perhaps it would be better if the Indian government put their own house in order by completely removing the cast system and some of the Indian millionaires who made their money by paying low wages would like to reinvest it back into their own country rather than expecting charities from around the world to sort out India's problems.

I very much enjoy the One Show but why, oh why, does it always start at least two minutes early? I also enjoy Strictly It Takes Two with Claudia and the two programmes definitely clashed on Tuesday evening 4 November when Adrian and Christine appeared with Claudia!! How frustrating!
