What did you think of the show? (29/10/2008)
Ricky Gervais star of The Office, Extras and now his new film 'Ghost Town' joined Adrian and Christine on the sofa. Ricky is pictured (above) adding his coins to the Pennies for Pudsey collection.
Are you politically correct? Are you bald or perhaps folically challenged? Hardeep Singh Kohli looked at political correctness. Click here to have your say.
Lucy Siegle went behind the scenes to learn about the role of the production designer on the period drama Little Dorrit.
Phil Tuffnell visited the Greatwood centre in Witshire. It brings together retired racehorses and children with special needs. The centre is funded by Children in Need. To find out how to donate to The One Show's Pennies for Pudsey campaign click here.
And Gyles Brandreth went in search of the lost tradition of the Gang Show.
Not to be outdone by Ricky, Ryan Greedy and his dalmation dog Hector joined us in the studio. At home Hector howls along to The One Show theme tune. If your pets have a similar skill we'd love to hear from you.

Lucy Siegle was wrong about Little Dorrit. It was written in the middle of the 19th century, it was not Regency.

Do all the presenters actually buy their poppies or do they wear them because they are given them? I would like to think they are bought by donation.

I have a fear that by being overly PC people will become afraid of giving genuine compliments or criticisms. Like the state of ricky's facial hair. :-0

I think that political correctness was for a good cause at first, but now, It's gone crazy! Political correctness has got to the point where it sometimes can actually be patronizing, even though it wasn't meant to...

Where's Christine's top from? It's fab, and I'd really like to buy one. Anybody know?
PS : TV Stars and Guests are generally obliged to buy their poppies.

Brilliant show. I thought Christine looked a bit tired though. Looking forward to Saturday to see her dancing. Good luck.

I think that the reason the dog did not howl is that it is not simply the theme tune that it is reacting to. The dog knows the family watches the show and so is calling it's pack together as they congregate in the lounge.
With the family there with the dog in the studio there was no need to howl to bring the pack together.

What a refreshing change to have a celebrity on who wasn't flogging his new book. Oh, what a shock, he is flogging his new film, shame he isn't a comedian, the show could do with one.
Let's hope we have true celebrities on who wants to be on, and not just to sell something.
Love & peace

Gang Show is live and well. Currently Greater London South West is on stage with their annual Gang Show (Sou'West) at the Seacombe Centre, Sutton, Surrey.

Next time you send Giles Brandreth on a mission please make sure that he rehearses. Tonight was embarrasing, he didn't know the words to "I'm riding/rolling along on the crest of a wave" and the kids he was showing how he did it were embarrased. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail and waste my money.

Can't believe Adrian hadn't heard of Gang Shows or that Gyles was surprised they're still going. Gang Show started in Britain and has been exported all over the world, with Gang Shows taking place every day of the year - and some of the oldest Gang Shows in the world are still going strong here in the UK. The 3rd oldest show in the world will take place in Glasgow this December and 4th oldest will take to the stage again in Newcastle next Easter.
Good to see the youngsters' efforts getting some primetime coverage, but it's a shame we didn't get to see a bit more of what they're about - would the average viewer who didn't know about Gang Show before know what they are after watching tonight's report? Sadly, I think not.

The content matter of your One Show has improved after (in my opinion) deteriorating.
Cristine does not look as well as previously.
Is all well with her?

Great to see the piece by Mr Brandreth on Gang Show. Would like to add that Gang Show here in Edinburgh and Scotland is very much alive and kicking and is one of the theatrical highlights in Edinburgh's theatrical calender.
Our rehearsal period is almost complete as our show begins in the Kings Theatre Edinburgh on 18th November 2008. We would be delighted if you could mention this fact on the One Show and would be delighted to see Adrian, Christine and Giles here in Edinburgh the week of our show.
Sincerely
Edward "Ted" James

Christine (and other BBC women presenters) please note:
Women wear a poppy on their right lapel, unless they're in uniform, when it is worn onthe left (same as men).!

I thought the Show was great. Ricky Gervais cracks me up. Just a thing about Gang Shows they are not dead they are alive and well all over the place.
We in Scouting are probably guilty of not advertising enough. So the One Show has inspired me to try and put that right.
Scouting is alive and well in this country and we need to advertise it more. I will push this for our Show in Sutton Coldfield next year.
There are probably plenty of actors out there who's first taste of acting was in a Gang Show. Jim Davidson admits to this.
Anyway thank you to the One Show for the inspiration.

May I congradulate Ryan & Rosie for the condition of their dog Hector who appeared on last nights show. As a nutritional advisor for a pet food company we struggle daily with over-weight dogs and their owners not realising that their dog is carrying too much weight. It was very pleasing to see a nice lean dog with excellant coat condition!
