Adrian and Christine were joined by Pauline Quirke.

Mother's Day is around the corner, but where are the daffodils? Apparently, this year, the extreme cold weather has delayed England's daffs season by up to four weeks.

Are the daffs blooming in gardens, parks and roadsides near you? If so, let us know where and we'll add the location to the daffs map on tonight's show.

The speculation about the behaviour and identity of Jon Venables has continued this week. For The One Show, broadcaster Roger Phillips gauged the mood in Bootle.

Arthur Smith visited the Hertfordshire home of George Bernard Shaw.

Mike Dilger went in search of the muntjac deer.

"When all at once I saw a crowd / A host, of golden daffodils / Beside the lake, beneath the trees / Fluttering and dancing in the breeze" wrote William Wordsworth

Daffodils hold a special place in British culture. Christine Walkden told us more.

And in the next few days, Christine will attempt to water-ski across the English Channel for Sport Relief. The weather dictates which day she attempts the challenge.
