Festive Debrief

Post categories:

Vicki Vicki | 10:00 UK time, Monday, 21 December 2009

Now, when I say 'festive debrief', I'm not using appalling French to talk about underwear (i.e. "festive de brief" = Christmas pants), but rather I'm talking about 'reviewing' The Cut at this Christmassy time of year! We've reached the end of season one of The Cut and we want to know your thoughts.

What did you like and what didn't you? What were your favourite storylines and which characters do you wish you'd seen more of?

Email us at thecut@bbc.co.uk or leave a comment here and let us know what you thought of The Cut.

But now... to finish... it's some festive (d) briefs!

It was an amazing series and I can't wait for the second season! My favourite episode... ooh, there are so many good ones to choose from, but I would have to say the one where Stephen and Olive almost run off to Paris, because of the SUPERB acting from Billie at the end!
I wish we'd seen more of Rosa, she's so lovely. Make her a central character for Series 2. Fin's a legend as well. And don't kill off Toni! That would be too cruel.
Oh and make Stephen quickly leave for Oxford and leave the characters (and us) alone, he's boring, annoying and horrible - the worst Mackinnon ever!
Have you found out about DVD releases yet?

Being a bit older than the target Switch audience, I got drawn into the show, watching all the omnibus episodes over four or five days. It was a bit like Skins without the cleavage, but most of the angst! Small tight cast, a spiralling plot that got more intertwined with each revolution, great soundtrack, surreal moments when Pudsey appears (remember I watched it out of context in mid-December!) and took an honest look at issues like self harm that tend to be overly moralised or glossed over in other programmes.

Second series will be interesting. Will there be more buzz on the blog? Will more people watch it online, on mobile, on omnibus? Will Olive ever smile and look happy? What will Jay do with the shop? And in true Crossroads (soap) style will Jay rescue Toni and sweep her off her feet ...

I got really hooked and cannot wait for the next series!!
Stephen is absolutely pathetic and needs to get completely over himself- same with his sister!
They both deserved what they got.

Love the rest of the characters and I hope Rosa's in it alot more next time :) & Toni will get better and finally meet someone =]

    Roll on series 2!

    The Cut's been great!

Any idea when we'll get to see season 2?

I'd say for next time we want more of Rosa, more of Fin, and more science related content (if Al Smith can get it in all his one act plays, he can do so in the cut too!)

The best moment of the season has got to be the ending - intense! And the song choice was absolutely perfect! Mumford & Sons are sooo good.

I now CANNOT wait for season 2! When's it coming then?

(Oh - also I think Steven is rubbish - it annoys me that the girls keep falling for him:@)
