An interesting, interactive awards ceremony which itself deserves an award. I enjoyed the gratifyingly short acceptance speeches from the well chosen nominees including actors who had the sense to realise that they don't sound quite so engaging without a well honed script.
I do have a request for one change however; please would you reconsider the order in which the awards are announced, even if it is only every other year. The Oscars traditionally announce the 'Best Actor' award after that of the'Best Actress', thus giving the impression that the 'Best Actor' award is somehow superior in status. It is well known that award ceremonies generally leave the 'kudos awards' until last. It would be heartening if the British were to lead the way in rectifying this imbalance, and I am sure that if Kermode sets the standard it will only be a matter of time before other movers and shakers in the industry follow.

Excellent alternative award, based on valid and thoughtful critism of Mr Kermit(Kermode).
Is it possible that this award can continue as a,'this where the Oscars should have gone', award righting the wrongs and bringing recognition to the truly deserving and oft unsung talent.
...there's room for another award ceremony...for movies, not for music!

Interactive? eh? This is real time man SO totally real time as to be like Real
OK Mark is on TV I agree with him The interview with Terry Gilliam was like soooo out there. Gillam is like talking about corporations blocking his idea of a great movie and Kermode says "How did you feel about that [invitation to discuss it publically]" Jonathan Ross v Kermode -like I love you JR but Kermode rocks!
