Elbow Live with the BBC Concert Orchestra
Have removed link to embedded media as it was no longer live
If you missed this on Saturday night give it a listen - it's an amazing concert. I've embedded Grounds for Divorce above, and you can still watch the full concert on the Radio 2 website for the next week or so. If you go to iPlayer you get the audio-only version, which is still terrific, but I have to say that I'm surprised that they didn't mention that it had been filmed as well! One of the younger people in the office once described Elbow as 'dad rock' but I would put it a different way, this is beautiful, yearning music for grownups.

How come there is no DVD available about the Elbow concert together with the BBC Concert Orchestra which took place on 1 February 2009? Is it because the Record COmpany doesn't want to release it (strange) or doesn't have the BBC the rights to do so?

There are lots of rights implications and also costs for a performance to be released on DVD. I don't know how this event was arranged, but I'm pretty sure that the decision would rest with Elbow and their management - why not ask Guy Garvey through his 6 Music site:

It was fantastic.

I just watched this live recording on an Air New Zealand flight so it must be available somewhere? Unless AirNZ bought rights to it. I'd like to buy the DVD if anyone knows where I can get it?

Is this a leaked Guy Garvey song? I work as a web designer and saw this on youtube the otherday. The Creare Group promoting Search Engine Optimisation. I was amazed when I saw it as the singer looks identical to Guy Garvey. It either is or a very good look alike. I can't think a company would have the budget to get him to sing and there has not been a great deal of press about it but take a look and let me know what you think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z9rP7CBs_Y
