Do you prefer the show in the studio or at an event?
This week's show comes from the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. We filmed performances by exciting folk stars Drever, McCusker and Woomble as well as all-male French vocal group Lo Cor de la Plana. We'll have an item about Robert Burns, one on Franz Ferdinand's new album, but the show is not exclusively Scottish, including an item on Rupert Goold's King Lear and an interview with Bruce Springsteen (Friday only).
Do you enjoy our visits to events like the Edinburgh Festival and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition or do you prefer the shows from the studio? Let us know what you think.
While you're waiting for our programme you might enjoy some of the videos on the Celtic Connections website. Standout performances include Abigail Washburn and The Sparrow Quartet, featuring the amazing banjo player Bela Fleck who performed at President Obama's inauguration. There are also lots of performances from a concert showcasing the songs of Robert Burns, which features Eddi Reader, Michael Marra and Dick Gaughin.

I much prefer the Culture show in the studio. Its more persoanl somehow. But every now and again at an event would be ok.
Can I please use this space to suggest you feature the sale of Sleddale Hall (Crow Cragg in Withnail and I)sometime soon on the Culture Show? Withnail and I fans all over the UK would be most interested in this story. Maybe you could also mention the group of fans trying to buy the place too?

I haven't seen the show this week, but I think it's far less stiff when it's away from the studio. I really liked the episodes from Edinburgh and I think the program would be less London-centric if it were coming from different parts of the country.

Hi Ellen, I'm just home from tonight's filming in Glasgow and was a saddened to find out that this was the last planned studio recording. I've been lucky enough to attend two recordings and enjoyed the experience both times. The studio environment, with audience, is a great setting for the show. Intimate enough for the presenters to be warm and personable and an ideal fulcrum to balance the different reports. The live performances always sound great and it's good to see and hear live music in a small studio, I remember The Late Show!
Anyway, what's the plan for the show? On the road or in the studio?
Robert

Hi Robert
Glad that you enjoyed the studio recordings. We are in fact going to be on the road after tonight's show (the one you were at). We will still often have an audience and in fact are talking about ways of involving you all more in how the show is made, so this might not be your last Culture Show filming experience!
Ellen
