Take part in an Edinburgh show
Our guests in the courtyard this week are comedian and musician Tim Minchin and writer, actor and embodiment of the spirit of Charles Dickens, Simon Callow. In his interview - to be broadcast on Thursday's Uncut edition - Callow talks about the new musical Mathilde which he is directing at the festival in addition to performing his own show A Festival Dickens. Mathilde, written by Conor Mitchell, was commissioned by London Academy of Music and Drama, but when LAMDA cancelled the Edinburgh production Callow stepped into the breach and has cast performers including Frances Ruffelle and Sarah Lark. There are still parts on offer, however, with auditions taking place this Thursday at Alison House in Edinburgh between 2pm and 6pm. If you would like more details email info@surefiretheatrical.com.

Hi! I loved the Edinburgh Festival Show number 2.
Ideas for future Culture Shows:
Interviews with writers: Steven Berkoff and David Hare, both currently active. Feature on Kafka (new biography).
Music: features on Leonard Cohen, Neil Diamond, Abba.
Films: Westerns as morality tales, from the 1950's to Unforgiven, Wyatt Earp, Open Range.
