Keeping ready meals top of mind in a crowded market isn’t always easy. But this week, my Tom Archer brand went viral! We had a fantastic response to a social media campaign to promote Tom Archer ready meals – which you can find for sale in Bellinghams’ supermarkets.
We marshalled folk on Twitter and Facebook, posting photos of my beautiful Tom Archer Gloucester Old Spot pigs, and asked consumers to provide amusing captions. And they didn’t disappoint! Using the hashtags #swinetime and #piggeryjokery customers joined in the fun. Only a tiny fraction weren’t 100% positive, but I think the results speak for themselves...
@BBCTheArchers " I was all for another football match - then Tom hands out the shirts with 'ReadyMeal' on the front. No way!" (@LunchWithALens on Twitter)
We'll wait till he gets a bit closer and then we'll rush him and knock him into the er.... manure! (Tina Hackett on BBC The Archers Facebook page)
How about "When shall we three be meat again?" #TheArchers #piggeryjokery (@Stickings90 on Twitter)
Fancy a pint at The Bull , Eric? (Sandra Greenhow on BBC The Archers Facebook page)
You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, but if Tom gets his way its going to be ready meals for the rest of us! (Hazel Hammond on BBC The Archers Facebook page)
Cripes. Don't know if I could handle following Tom Archer on twitter for long... #thearchers (@remaining_amiss on Twitter)
Not sure Tom Archer's #swinetime will catch on. #thearchers (@failtesheff on Twitter)
#swinetime I think the universe may have just imploded. Bit like when the cartoon Pink Panther gets caught in the Hoover #TheArchers (@chrisguess on Twitter)
