Can't see why not as long as she stops being so eaily put upon and bullied . Even tonight she never explained that she had been mobbed into leaving by Martin Gibson in order to create the' vacancy' for his wife -----

Kathy's CV: surely Kathy was at Borchester Grammar and not Borchester Green? For that is how Sid met Kathy - through Lucy who was a pupil at Borchester Grammar, having passed a scholarship for the school ..

Concerning post 1 - Martyn created a vacancy for a friend of his - and not his own wife - as Kathy explained to Caroline.

She has the relevant experience, but she does seem to lack self confidence. She should have explained what had happened at the Golf Club as this is a serious issue, and happens all too often. Having said that she will do a good job back at Grey Gables where she has worked before.

I don't get the criticism about Kathy at her interview. She was upfront about all the problems and she did tell Caroline about Martyn stitching her up about the replacement. In fact, Caroline commented that it was classy.

As to lacking confidence, she did defend herself as well as taking things on the chin like a pro. In the end she was confident enough to tell him where to stick the job.

According to The Book of the Archers Kathy worked at Borchester Free School (p235) Not Borchester Green as this blog states. Hedli was one of the writers so she should know!
Not very impressed when mistakes like this occur in an official BBC piece.

The school she taught at became Borchester Green through amalgamation with other schools. I used the current name, as I assumed any requests for references would need that, rather than the historic name.

Mieteka - the SWs forgot what school Kathy worked in when they wrote the SL about the schools being amalgamated .. she originally worked at Borchester Grammar - where Lucy was. No wonder Heidi got confused ... I was confused too.

Borchester Grammar was a Direct Grant School which became independent rather than become comprehensive. Lucy was very clever and won a scholarship to the school .. Some of this is explained in:

Here is the info on Lucy Gemmell (nee Perks) ..
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qpgr/profiles/lucy-gemmell

AS you can see she went to Borchester Grammar .. and was taught by Kathy ..

I was very puzzled when around the end of the 80s Kathy's school was amalgamated into another .. for it was independent!

    Re Martin G's machinations.

Ever heard of ' Constructive Dismissal' Kathy?

Get yourself a decent industrial relations lawyer.. Maybe that nice lady who's married to your local vicar can help there??

You are right, JPBS, but there is no chance whatever that this will be accepted.

According to The Archers Encyclopaedia, by Joanna Toye and Adrian Flynn (2001), Lucy Perks "passed her eleven-plus exam and went on to Borchester Grammar. There, fatefully, her form teacher was Kathy Holland..."

She's far too reasonable / gullible for me. Wouldn't hire here.

Kathy says what posts she had held but she doesn't say what her contributions and achievements have been; doesn't say what value she has added to the businesses. Comes across as a bit of a passenger in all jobs. A steady Eddy but not likely to take any business forward and in today's world this is a serious lack. Sorry Kathy - there are likely to be more inspired candidates than you my dear.

Ian pretty sure I remember Sid calling her "Kathleen," so I wonder where "Katherine" appeared to be her name, please?
