But of course ! Jess can't come back because Rob HAS murdered her and did he have an accomplice? Can local serial killer David Archer account for his movements on the night in question ? Maybe Ed and Emma's much dissed new puppy can redeem himself by discovering the body ?

I feel torn. On the one hand, it would be a relief never to hear Jess's controlling, prissy tones again, on the other hand, if she doesn't reappear, Rob will be suspected of having murdered her by some listeners for ever more. So, on balance, it would be better if she came back, but I'd like her to be proved a nasty piece of work under that cloyingly 'nice' façade.

I am so incredibly bored with the brittle and selfish Helen... How can she demand that her parents accept a man who stands for everything they have worked against all their life, such as intensive farming and animal cruelty? The story is so far fetched it makes me want to stop listening....

And how come HE, the adulterer, is said to be divorcing HER? On what grounds? Salmonicide? And what about Lovely Jess's Job?

Too many loose ends here, dropped scripts like dropped fish?

(I would like Jennifer to get a right drubbing for her ludicrousness in ruining Jess's marriage with her interfering - Debbie told Helen how happy Rob was with his delightful wife, and how much he was looking forward to having Jess live with him in Ambridge (presumably in the Herd Manager's House at Valley Farm, when it is ready for him; maybe Debbie can berate the Interfering Aldridge and her inability toserve food?).

I had family to stay over Christmas and miissed the Archers for a week. Now I'm back and what on earth happened? Last I heard, Rob and Jess were the new lovey doveys, now he's back with Helen. Please help, what happened?

I think Jess is still lovely! Presumably the return to GB was a mutual decision, as was the decision to move to the USA and to Canada? And the Interfering Rob, who strutted round the village poking his nose everywhere with his intrusive questioning, until he found someone to be his bed partner, is a control freak and a Menace, as well as a cheat.

But why hasn't Jess come back for her furniture etc?

When a man marries his mistress, he creates a vacancy...

I do agree with your comments about Jess; I was convinced that her 'niceness' was a façade too. If she is coming back to Ambridge, then the mask will be off and who knows what vengeance she could wreak? The way she spent all afternoon arranging cucumber-slices on a salmon sounded very sinister to me....

Well done for starting the New Year with so many promising story-lines. The sad passing of Jack Woolley leaves the village shop ripe for conversion to a Tesco metro - enough to turn reformed but restless jailbird Susan Carter back to a life of crime? First victim the new puppy? Darrell living in Fat Paul's van - surely a cover for the Grundys to upscale their contraband cider industry to crystal meth production - but will the Prof or Robert Snell be the brains behind the operation ? Rob and Helen finally together - re-enter the spurned wife showing the psycho that lurks behind that too good to be true façade -and as a social worker she'll know how to get to Henry........
And call me a conspiracy theorist but why was the blog on Vanessa Whitburn's honour closed before it opened. Is Nigel hacking from beyond the Grave ?
