I recently had the great pleasure of talking to June Spencer, who plays Peggy Woolley, for an exclusive video interview (below).
June is 92 but has the vitality of a woman 20 or even 30 years younger. She was in the very first episode of The Archers in 1951 and is still doing wonderful work on...

You might be aware that our colleagues in BBC Radio 3 are in the middle of a Schubert marathon at the moment. We thought it would be fun to get involved, so in this evening's episode (Thursday 29 March, and the repeat the following day) you'll hear Robert Snell listening to some Schubert.

Thursday's birthday bumps for Eddie, Brian's dodgy compensation, and the budget comes to Ambridge. These are just some of the topics under discussion this week.
But conversation has been dominated by Helen's trip to Leeds. By Wednesday, listeners were rooting for Sharon as "manipulative" Helen...

Ever wondered what Brenda could do with her newfound cooking prowess? Or what would happen if John Archer's son, Rich, came back to Ambridge? Should Tom watch his back? Should Rich be worried?
And how would Pip cope if her parents' stopped listening to all her brilliant ideas?

Emma "glass almost empty" Grundy, anticipation over Brookfield's visit from the consultant (would Sam return?) and "lecherous" Jim were all hot topics this week.
Listeners held their breath wondering if Tony's number was up - but perhaps they've been focusing on the wrong person? Brian's stress...

Tony Archer's awful visitors, the return of eClarrie to the Bridge Farm dairy, Lily's bell ringing lesson, Ruth's secret advisor and the "anti's" at the mega dairy site... plus some suggestions for Jim to get him through Lent.
Here's my pick of listener discussions on The Archers message board...

Nancy Banks-Smith takes her regular survey of events in Ambridge, in a piece replete with literary references.
This month, she recruits not just A A Milne, but Sellers and Yeatman to her cause. Guess who's 'right but repulsive'. (Clue: it's not Tony.)
Keri Davies is an Archers (and Ambridge Extra...

'...Brian, of course, has been in trouble with the rest of the family for weeks over his mega-dairy unit but Brian is always in trouble one way or the other. It's what he's there for...'
Veteran radio writer Gillian Reynolds reports on recent events in Ambridge.

From laughter on Thursday, to tears on Tuesday - it's been an emotional week for Archers listeners. Some have signed up to Neil's fan club, others picked sides at the village meeting over the mega dairy.
But the vast majority of posts have been about poor Tony Archer, a victim of Helen's Beef Wellington...
