Give me a hand

Christmas is nearly here, which can only mean one thing... it’s the Strictly Final this weekend! So make sure that on Saturday you put down those heavy, panic-buy filled shopping bags, and get yourself on the sofa in time for 6.30pm when you can stop worrying about what to get Great Aunt Doris and immerse yourself in the glittery joy of the Strictly Final instead.

And what a Final it will be, because for the first time ever, it’s an all-female line-up.  This week Abbey, Natalie, Sophie and Susanna will be upping their game as they each perform a former dance picked by the Judges and a showdance. The four couples will then have a bit of time to catch their breath before we are back on screen at 8.40pm for the Results Show. One couple will be voted out of the competition and the final three will go on to dance their favourite routine from the series.  Take a look below to see which routines have been chosen and what songs they’ll be performing them to:

Abbey and Aljaz:
Judges’ Choice:  The Waltz to “Kissing You” by Des’ree.
Showdance: “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns N Roses
Couples’ Favourite: The Quickstep to “Walking On Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves

Natalie and Artem:
Judges’ Choice: The Cha Cha to Boney M’s “Rasputin”
Showdance:  “Steppin’ Out with My Baby” by Christina Aguilera and Tony Bennett
Couples’ Favourite: American Smooth to Jennifer Hudson’s “And I’m Telling You, I’m Not Going”

Sophie and Brendan:
Judges’ Choice: Viennese Waltz to “My Favourite Things” by Julie Andrews
Showdance: “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston
Couples’ Favourite: The Charleston to “Rock It For Me” by Caravan Palace

Susanna and Kevin:
Judges’ Choice: The Quickstep to Tommy Steele’s “Good Morning”
Showdance: “Your Song” by Ewan MacGregor
Couples’ Favourite: The Paso Doble to Carmen’s “Los Toreadors”

What do you think of their song and dance choices? Let us know in the comments below:

Strictly is a modern-day "Generation Game" entertainment program.
Anyone taking the dancing seriously in this program should either not be watching it,
or laugh along with it, wondering how the average "Joe-Public" as the judges
mark many of the contestants. The “Judges” of the final will be marking little of the dancing.
Its a complete hoot - a Butlin's talent show - which is what the public enjoy.

Wonderful choices for Abbey and Aljaz, cannot wait to see you dance.

Please lets have 'nice' comments on here, good luck to all the girls, it will be a great show on Saturday whoever wins.

Thank you to Vicky Gill and the Wardrobe Team for all the delicious outfits you have put the contestants in, you have surpassed yourselves this year.

Sophie & Brendan have been one of my favourite Strictly couples to follow (and I've been watching the show almost from the start). I hope they get the votes needed to repeat their Charleston - dance of the series for me. Good luck to all the couples though, give us your best :-)

Just read the top part to Strictly Sarah blurb, the Judges pick the first contestant to go out, nail biting stuff ........

Why involve the public all the way until the final then let the judges loose?!

Its a shame we don't get to vote on who we want to be saved for the first part as well, as thats the way we normally get to vote, rather than what the judges want, as it can be unfair then.

Are the judge seriously choosing who leaves without any say from the public? That's ridiculous. The final always has been, and always should be, the public's choice. The judges are supposed to be just there as a guide on the final night. Disgusted.

Murphymom, fraid you've got it wrong! The rules for the series, which you will find under about at the top of the page, state clearly that in the final the judges votes are entirely advisory, and the elimination and the winner is entirely and only by the public vote! As it should be!

Don't we get to vote after the first dances? I'm not sure I understand about the judges picking the first one off, will it be out of the two dancers with the lowest votes as is in the dance off? Someone please help!

Judges doing the first elimination - HUGE news!!

On past performance (of the judges that is) it will be between Sophie and Susanna for the half-time boot...

Should keep the judges out of the show. They mark Brendan and Sophie down and I cannot understand why.

My fave couple Natalie & Artem to win! I love both of the dances chosen and am looking forward to their showdance!

Congratulations must also go to (1) Vicky Gill and her team for the fabulous costumes worn not just by Artem & Natalie but others too! (2) SCD Band for their hard work in conducting the music/songs to a high standard - they are a joy to hear & watch! (3) all the production teams and the strictly prop boys - without them there wouldn't be a strictly show!

    Well done!

JUDGES. When have they ever had a choice in the final. That's not what was originally shown in the programme details. I hope this is a mistake & not just another way yo keep or eliminate a particular person. If true NOT HAPPY

The judge's pick? That is absolutely ridiculous. Not fair at all.

Have I read this right that the judges will choose who leaves in 4th place? Sorry that is disgraceful because its so obvious who will be there final 3. If this is the case I will never vote on this show again, this is a complete travesty on all the voting people!

Why are you all saying the judges have a choice?! They don't make the decision have no idea where your getting that from as I just re read that twice. Its all down to the public vote, the judges choose one of their dances.

BBC Strictly Sarah - are you sure that is right about the judges voting out the first dancer because that is not what it says in the rules? It says - The Grand Final of Strictly Come Dancing 2013 will be on Saturday 21st December. The four remaining couples will all dance again but this time the judges' scores will be for reference only. The eliminations and the ultimate winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2013 will be decided purely by the public vote.

No way should the judges choose! Too many people think it's been a bit fixed this year anyway. It should now be down to the public and the public only.
